CBD Oil for Weight Gain

Posted on 02/06/2020 12:12:15 PM PST by chemical_boy

Disclaimer I live in Canada

My 85 year old mother has a poor appetite and she only weights 79 Lbs. My question is have any here tried CBD oil for Appetite Stimulation and does it really work? I'm desperate and am seriously considering getting her CBD gelcaps (0% THC)

I think the poster was referencing the claims that CBD can fix it all in both humans and animals. The research supporting the use for seizures in people is clear and very exciting that so many, including your son, are experiencing excellent outcomes.

The CBD you are getting is also vastly different (real, better quality, etc) than the junk being sold at the local gas station.

Happy to hear of your success.

If you can’t eat grapefruit because of your meds, you can’t ingest CBD substances

From my and the experience of others around me, you’re incorrect. Of course it doesn’t do everything, but it most certainly does some things. Headache relief for one.

I’ve been here in the background for years, and very rarely comment, however I need to put my 2 cents on record.

1. My mother, at 93 years old and with dementia refused to eat. Desperately, I was able to convince her doctor in the nursing home to prescribe a medical oral marijuana. Yes, it did encourage her to eat when the staff was able to get her to take it. In retrospect, I realized that refusing to eat was the only way my mother could control her life. I knew that she never wanted to be in a nursing home and if she had been able she would have chosen another way out.
2. In regards to CBD. I use it with good results. I have had rheumatoid arthritis for 20 years. Enbrel, Prednisone and Voltaren have kept me functional. I’ve been able to stop Voltaren and reduce Prednisone because of daily dosing of CBD. It’s expensive. Do your homework. If it’s placebo effect (which I sincerely doubt) so be it.

I tried CBD for arthritis. After a month of using it I came to the conclusion that it is useless.

CBD is a byproduct like corn syrup. Total scam.

As I said in a previous post: You need to do your homework.
What works for me is a BROAD SPECTRUM CBD. With less than 3% THC. And the entire Terpene spectrum. Entourage effect. Like anything else in nature, you can’t isolate just one ingredient and expect it to do it all.

Also, the effects of CBD, like a lot of other meds, are cumulative. Give it a month, then, give it another month. As President Trump says, “what do you have to lose”?

For me, CBD has been effective not only with arthritis, but also with insomnia.

It’s easy to lose your appetite when they are feeding you low salt low fat shit.

Eating real whole foods is one way to get your appetite for life back.

Where do you get it from? Because unless you are getting it from a very specific source, you are ingesting a very high amount of pesticides. Look at almost every state. Marijuana gas the highest amount of pesticides of any agricultural product I can find.

Ah, okay thank you. Sorry, many times when people post a link with no text it can be confusing. At least to me.

Pubmed also has some really good peer reviewed research.

“If smoking or vaping simply isn’t an option, then try it, very small piece by very small piece at least a half hour apart each in order to avoid the situation where the first piece is only now hitting you while you’ve already consumed 2 or 3 more.”

Would not recommend consuming for effect by adding doses one after another.
Try a ‘dime’ sized chunk of commercial brownie and access any benefit the following day. Then try an increase the following day if needed, rinse, repeat.
The goal is to see at what quantity of brownie being more hungry is achieved, not “did you catch a good buzz grandma?”.

I repeat: You have to do your homework. Naturally, (pun intended) my source is organically grown and lab tested in the US. Yes, it’s pricey, but what is your health worth?

Yes, I could keep on taking my overpriced prescription meds,(have you any idea what enbrel costs a month?...over $5k)
And I won’t even begin to list the side effects including lymphoma.

I’m not selling anything so I won’t give you info on my source. I’ve spent many hours researching. I suggest that you might do the same.
