If you’re lucky enough to be one of the 2,000 then you get checked once a day by a government trained doctor.
Otherwise you’re sent home and rely on traditional home remedies until you expire.

Much higher population density and inadequate sanitation practices in their cultivation of livestock.

Almost all these new viruses get started in pig or chicken farming operations and jump species to humans. We get into trouble when they mutate into highly contagious forms.
