what I do know is that Madison’s blood sugar is always low, if it gets to the 100 - 110 range her mother is amazed, and it never remains that high for any length of time.
Prayers up. If it is staying low, her meds need to be adjusted. Managing is tricky.
What happens when she calls the physician and they direct her to cut the child’s insulin for say a day....does the blood sugar balloon up dramatically? It sounds like a complete overhaul is needed. A type one can have wild swings in their glucoses if their treatment plans get altered...say if an insulin dose or three gets missed. If this little girl’s sugar seldom sees the hundred mark and is often below 70 at bedtime then it might be a case of too little calories vs staying religiously and stringently faithful to every insulin dose.
or perhaps the little girl still makes a bit of her own insulin? Is the girl a picky eater? Does mom pounce on every supposed “bad food”? Monitoring a blood sugar every 2 hours when the doctors send diabetics home with a before meals and before bedtime regimen is overkill with mom and kid not sleeping well. What does the child do at school?
