While Democrats obsess over impeachment, McConnell and Trump are packing the courts for a generation.
In the face of some stunning electoral setbacks this week, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and President Trump are trying to get their party to refocus the mission at hand: confirming judges.
Now, with the government lurching ever closer to another shutdown in the coming weeks, and with Democrats opposing the GOP’s attempt to move on to a defense spending bill, McConnell is planning to confirm at least 30 conservative judicial nominees before year’s end, which will bring joy to Trump’s base and build a legacy that will outlast both of their political careers.
McConnell and Trump have already overseen the confirmation of more than 150 judges — a whopping 40 more than former President Barack Obama had confirmed at a similar point in his tenure.

I don’t know that this is going to last “for a generation”; if the new normal for senate confirmation for judges is 51 votes, then it just means that whenever the same party has the senate and the WH, we get a judge tsunami.
30 more by the end of the year? No way in hell if he maintains his current pace.
He has one judicial confirmation vote scheduled for this week — only one. We’ll have to wait until Thursday (the end of their workweek... ain’t that grand) to see how many votes he’ll schedule for next week (the week beginning November 18th). And after that week we begin approaching their long Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Years breaks.
30 more by the end of the year? They’re just trying to humor us and certainly have zero plans to deliver. He COULD & SHOULD do that but won’t.
I haven’t been able to find a list for this to what benches are they supposed to go, district or appellate?

99 vacancies, 45 “pending”.
If pending means nominated, the Senate should make sure all 45 get a vote in the next 90 days. Then we need to make sure that the rest get nominated and confirmed by the end of September.
Wouldn’t it be nice if the GOP went all out and proved they are on our side?
It seems that Mitch’s “special purpose” on Earth is to get judges confirmed. And on that note, he has been very successful.

I hope we are taking time to properly vet them. Rather have fewer good originalists than have a few fakes get through.
Makes me think McConnell wants to destroy them rather than promote them.

In the meantime don’t have hearings to save America. What good is a judge compared to have hearings of communist Democrats that are destroying America and impeaching President Trump. Senate seems to becoming a pile of shi! afraid to do what is necessary to help America.
Not to be a downer but as we’ve seen it only takes a handful of Rat hack fed Judges sprinkled across the country to keep the leftist train rolling. They constantly block the agenda, make the BS ruling apply nationwide and maybe the SC eventually gets it and maybe they get smacked down. The few times a good judge steps up another Rat hack overrules them.
