I can’t stand this whole “war hero” thing when we are talking about behind the scenes pencil pushers. The true heros are the guys with their fingers in a trigger guard or the ones in the breach supporting them. I don’t know Vidman’s history too well but I do know he entered the service out of college as an officer.

Somebody should ask the politicians and media pundits why being "a decorated war hero" automatically makes someone patriotic, trustworthy, candid, and only concerned for our nation. If their logic is correct, then we must have terribly misunderstood Timothy McVeigh, since he earned a Bronze Star in combat. So by the logic of the politicians and media pundits he must also have been patriotic, trustworthy, candid, and only concerned for our nation.
But somehow I think their opinion of how important "a decorated war hero" is depends totally on whether or not that person supports leftist causes.
