Thursday on CNN’s “The Situation Room,” Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) said President Donald Trump was so aliening our allies, as evidenced by his back-and-forth with Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, they might not help America if we are attacked.
Host Brianna Keilar asked, “I want to ask you about the G7. The president is heading to France after several days of stirring up controversy on the international stage before he even arrives. What impact will that have on the president’s ability to work with global leaders during what are really high-stakes meetings?”
Swalwell said, “We need friends in the world. Today, if there was to be an attack on America or one of the America’s interesting, I’m not sure we would have the same friends across the world lining up to go to conflict or to help defend the United States. ...

No rational, decent American who understands history, contemporary cultural realities and human nature, fully understands that if America were to be attacked ( most likely scenario Western Pacific by an overconfident China), Europeans would never risk anything to aid the United States. Those same rational decent Americans realize that there no longer exists a rational for NATO and America should avoid foreign entanglements that do not enhance the security of the American people.
Its a given that this congressman and most of his fellow Democrats are hopeless fools that should never be allowed to exercise power. The real danger to the American nation lies within.
If we ever get to the point where the only hope is help from Denmark, we have already lost.
Great Britain can’t even protect their own shipping in the Persian Gulf anymore. Germany never could. France might be able to but won’t .

When was the last time our “Allies” did anything to help us except send a hundred soldiers to help on a base somewhere? And even that was controversial for their citizens.
We really should have shut NATO down the day the Berlin Wall fell. We should still do it now. And boot the UN out as well.
