they did moments ago, when Trump tweeted that due to the Danish PM’s comments that the country has no interest in selling Greenland to the US, which to the president apparently is tantamount to an international scandal, Trump would is postponing his meeting scheduled in two weeks, and added that “the Prime Minister was able to save a great deal of expense and effort for both the United States and Denmark by being so direct”, adding that he thanks her for that.

And why not a Trump Tower in Greenland? It would foo longer be flyover country. I’d love to travel there but my passport’s expired...if I didn’t need one, I’d just hop on a plane whenever.
And why not a Trump Hotel in Russia, for that matter. Moscow has a Hilton, a Holiday Inn, a Sheraton.
The socialists in Denmark have been virtue-signaling about how they’re preserving the place, being good eco-stewards, blah blah blah. Meanwhile, for the locals, the place is a zero-opportunity dead end. Joining the U.S. would be the best thing that ever happened to the natives.

Never get involved in a land war in Asia. We seem to forget that about every 10-20 years.
Don’t forget that we also bought Alaska. Both purchases were made to remove a colonial empire from the Western Hemisphere. In the first case, it was France, in the second, it was Russia.
Why wouldn’t Greenland be the same?
It is currently a remnant of a colonial empire, too.
Of course, if Greenland votes for its own independence, and then petitions to join the U.S., then it would be like TEXAS!
