All these (so called) pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong get a lot of air-play in the United States. I cant but help that [the HK protests] are instigated by Donald Trump and his CIA operatives to stir up and instigate some backyard conflict for China. You know, just like how the CIA agitated the protests the last time Obama visited HK.
The American news media, whether it is CNN, or (even) Rush Limbaugh all parrot the same line.
They parrot the same old narrative; [1] Its organic and grass roots, [2] all they want is freedom and democracy, and [3] that they are fighting against Communism. The videos and movies on you-tube all support this narrative. Its a nice narrative, and everyone in the USA is repeating this.
The only thing is
The narrative is nonsense.
What do they actually want? Well, for one thing, they want universal suffrage. You know where everyone can vote, with no age limits, or limits on the number of times that you can vote, or whether you are a citizen or not. Pretty radical stuff.
You are a learned, adventurous and polite guy but, eh...I believe you have put on a speedo, strolled up to a hornet's nest, then have kicked it, then have jumped up and down on it, standing there.
Your essays are great. Your videos are great. There are many aspects of China I love, I have been there many times.
I don't think you should be snuffed out, censored, any more than I should be censored, were I in China now.
I'm not in charge here, not by any measure, but I think you may be ASKING for it.
Your position on this is so strong, so utterly unusual, and your expositions are so long and detailed, yet come without any detectable means of return, no compensation:
I have to ask, even were there ZERO chance of an honest answer:
Are you a PAID member of The Fifty Cent Army..?
I mean, in view of your position on the HK matter, that absolutely would make sense, right..?
