NEW YORK — Jerry Nadler, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, has done everything short of publicly calling for President Donald Trump’s impeachment since Democrats unleashed their oversight arsenal on the president earlier this year.
But Lindsey Boylan, a former New York state official who’s giving the liberal stalwart from Manhattan’s West Side one of his toughest primary fights in decades, says that’s not enough.
While Nadler has pushed his party leadership behind the scenes to move on impeachment, Boylan is aiming squarely at Nadler’s reluctance to publicly support an official House inquiry against Trump — and she’s using the issue to great effect. The 35-year-old candidate took in $264,657 in donations in the second quarter of this year, the most among the growing crop of primary challengers looking to unseat members of Congress around New York City.

But the knock against Nadler — who will be a central character when Special Counsel Robert Mueller testifies before the House Judiciary and Intelligence Committees on Wednesday — isn’t just about Medicare for All, the Green New Deal or immigration. It’s about the perception among some progressives that he isn’t thirsty enough for Trump’s blood.

I don’t buy that for half a second.
I was there when Nadler was selected for the seat by a board of Communist apparatchiks. The moment that happened he was permanently a Congressman as long as he pursued their agenda, which he has quite faithfully.
He is in no primary danger whatsoever because that district doesn’t have genuine elections. It has an alliance of corrupt, far-left interests that have been embedded in the district and controlled its politics for generations.
In this context, the idea that a primary challenge puts any pressure on him whatsoever is ludicrous. It’s like arguing Stalin feared losing an election and therefore did something specific to head that off.
