I remember the late 1970s Analog Magazine had a nonfiction article that said the tree pattern of falling down forcibly a certain way and the high radioactivity meant that it could have been a nuclear explosion. I really can’t remember the details.

I really cant remember the details. I would think that whatever it was, tiny grains of it should be embedded in those trees.

Analog collection only goes back to the 80’s.
Now if my fathers’ collection had survived all of the military moves we could certainly check.
