That’s Pope Mario the Pious, you peasant! Respect your betters!

Honestly, Mario Cuomo was without doubt the most insufferably arrogant politician in U.S. history. His regard for anyone who voted for Reagan was one of headshaking finger wagging exasperation. Cuomo was the consummate philosopher-king, wrongfully denied his rightful place as the ruler of us all.

When he was defeated in 1994 while seeking a fourth term as Governor, I rejoiced as I imagined Cuomo sighing in disbelief, “you ungrateful bigots! And after all I’ve done for you.”

Mario managed to secure a position on the board that was to oversee the monies that the "Queen of Mean" (forgot her name) left to animals, hundreds of millions, iirc.

That group went before a "friendly" judge, and asked "Do we have to follow the will and spend the money on animals?"

"Nope", was the ruling.

The monies that could have been spent on food, medicine and spaying/neutering at say animal shelters went God knows where.

I stand corrected! Pope Mario the Pious was the most sorry, arrogant prick to “serve “ in public office in our lifetime. 0bama is a very, very close second, almost a toss up.
