That’s right! I knew at one time but forgot. When I was small we lived way out in the country and my father would take us for walks, he showed us wild wintergreen, in the winter. It had beautiful green leaves and tasty little red berries, sort of wintergreeny flavor if I remember correctly. I have since learned that one can take the leaves (and maybe berries) and make an extract by stuffing them into a jar and pouring half 190 proof and half water, or vodka, covering the leaves, and set sit for a few weeks. Strain, and voila! For pain.
