Just dropping in to share three YouTube channels that have a wealth of very powerful information that changed my life.

At 65, I was suffering from a variety of ailments from gout to psoriasis and indigestion. I developed AFIB. I was barely mobile at times and needed a cane to get around. I thought I was just getting old, but I decided to fight back.

Turns out, all of it could be reversed simply by making some lifestyle changes and adopting a sensible exercise and eating routine.

At 72, I only carry the cane when I can’t carry a gun. Skin problems and digestion issues are gone. Sore joints and stiff lower back are a thing of the past and my mental clarity is a good as ever, maybe better.

Trying to figure out how to deal with gout led me to Apple cider vinegar, which somehow landed me on an Ekberg video. Ekberg does a lot about diet, autophagy and intermittent fasting; very powerful stuff.

Dr Ekberg, talking about breathing, led me to Wim Hof who led me to Sadhguru.

https://www.youtube.com/c/drekberg
https://www.youtube.com/user/wimhof1
https://www.youtube.com/c/sadhguru

Ekberg: Holistic health, eating habits, exercise, fasting, autophagy.
Wim Hof: Breathing, discipline, cold therapy, meditation
Sadhguru...just watch

I have a lot of info I have collected but neglected posting much of anything to this thread. Tomorrow I start a new leaf. One of the interesting things about herbs is that many or most of them have multiple uses. Herbs that are unfamiliar can be found on my favorite herb sources that I can post again if anyone wants. I will try to add Latin names next time. Many of the herbs below have other great benefits.

Herbs for Edema, Kidneys and Liver

Manjishta
Clears liver, moves blood, wound healing (also for inflamamtory skin conditions)

Shilajit
Edema, rejuvenates and cleanses kidneys (also for blood sugar problems, and strengthens bones if injured or for osteoporosis)

Guduchi
Edema, Supports kidney and liver function, counteracts toxic effects of drugs/chemicals, supports immune system, good for IBS and gastric reflux

Burdock
Edema, helps kidney and liver function, deeply cleansing to liver and blood (good for infections such as boils)

Pippali
For fatty liver: 1/2 t. pippali, 1/2 t. ghee and I t. honey mixed and eaten first thing in the morning followed by a cup of warm water (Pippali noted for strengthening lung function)

Bhumyamalaki
Edema, Protects liver function, liver disease

Bhringaraj
Removes toxins from liver, for enlarged liver, good for gall bladder and blood

Gokshura
Edema, all kidney and urinary problems

Gokshuradi guggulu (stronger than plain Gokshura)

Thanks for the info. I’m more and more interested in natural, (old-timey) healing methods. I follow this former nurse’s blog where she share some good info. I found this post very interesting: https://deeprootsathome.com/black-seed-binds-to-spike-protein-prevents-vascular-damage/

I’ve been asking doctors and nurses their opinions of the vax and masks. Interesting that they say they may have to do them, but don’t believe in their effectiveness. Some brave souls are refusing

The cattery where Mrs. AZLiberty is looking for new cats is run by two doctors who abandoned the practice of medicine and set up an eco-farm, including a cattery.

One of the doctors is an herb geek. http://doctorschar.com/category/plant-files/ is a nice catalog of plant photos with brief summaries of their health-related uses.

Thanks for that link, AZLiberty. Going to ping the list, a lot of new info posted.

There are many things that will help with flu, various respiratory illnesses, as well as possibly for covid. Once covid takes hold seriously, that is way beyond my paygrade.

Here are some therapeutics I use and would recommend to anyone when dealing with unnamed respiratory illness. Some of these have been described earlier in the thread. As usual, if anyone wants to know sources I will post. Later I will post ingredients in “Flu Fighter”, it has helped many people I know get well faster. There are many other remedies of all kinds, these are just some I am familiar with and use.

1. Pippali - aka Long Pepper. Actually a member of the black pepper family, it is not but not in the chili/hot pepper family. Comes in whole and powdered form. Considered the Ayurvedic lung herb supreme.

2. “Flu Fighter” - a blend I make, has lung support as well as “microbe killers” and immune strengthening herbs.

3. Talisadi - a traditional Ayurvedic herb for respiratory symptoms and as a preventive.

4. Essential oils for steam inhalations and general use.

5. Free use of Trikatu - equal amounts of black pepper, ginger and pippali, ground. Added to any herbs or drinks- kills pathogens, enhances digestion, metabolism, lung function, aids in the delivery of herb energies to the tissues, detoxifies the body.

6. Diet - warm, cooked food only, easy to digest, nothing cold or iced, no orange juice, but other citrus good IF mixed with hot water and a pinch of ginger/black/pepper added. Plus honey. Soups are very good, hot, with plenty of ginger, onions, garlic.

7. Pine (the right ones) or Fir needle teas can be taken freely, simmer with lid on for ten minutes or so. Very stringent and bitter unless the freshly grown spring needles. Add honey.

8. Citrus peel decoction - posted above by I think spokeshave, he said it is natural quinine. I did not know about that, but have used and recommended for use in bad flu or other infective illness. Use organic peels only, any kind available. He recommended lemon and grapefruit.
Peel the fruit, keeping the white part on, and mince or chop, simmer at a low heat with sufficient water, keeping lid on tightly, for about 20 minutes. Cool to room temp. and strain, refrigerate and drink a few small cups a day, with honey.

Citrus peels are almost magic, in a pinch the essential oils can also be used. I’ve used and recommended a cup of hot water with 1 or 2 drops of pure lemon essential oil with some honey, as a drink during sickness, or as preventive.

9. Tinctures of lemon balm, prunella (aka as Self Heal or Heal All), and catnip are all useful for flu type/respiratory illness. Plus have other uses. Are anti-viral and anti-bacterial. I have seeds of catnip and prunella if anyone wants to grow, I grow and make tinctures.

10. After learning about Quercetin and zinc, I got a bottle of each, and am using them when I feel as though I am getting sick. Dark grapes have a lot of quercetin and I am hoping to can up many quarts this fall.

Turmeric is never wrong. But for sickness I would use (and do use) herbs etc with more “oomph”, more kicka** power. If someone is using turmeric regularly, no need to stop of course. Turmeric is fanstastic for external use too, I always put on cuts or other minor skin things. Wash, put turmeric powder, apply bandaage. Heals up fast with no infections.

If I have time I may go through some previous comments and post links to ones useful for respiratory illness, like cough syrup recipe etc.

Reminds me I need to make dragon balm and soothing balm, not sure if I posted recipes. Dragon is the natural version of tiger balm, for headaches, muscle and joint pain, and helps a lot with breathing by rubbing on chest, sinus areas on face, and I put in my nostrils. Much better than tiger balm. It is strong!

Thanks for the info. I”ve used Boiron tablets for acid and gas (two different kinds) with great success.
