I have a lot of info I have collected but neglected posting much of anything to this thread. Tomorrow I start a new leaf. One of the interesting things about herbs is that many or most of them have multiple uses. Herbs that are unfamiliar can be found on my favorite herb sources that I can post again if anyone wants. I will try to add Latin names next time. Many of the herbs below have other great benefits.
Herbs for Edema, Kidneys and Liver
Manjishta
Clears liver, moves blood, wound healing (also for inflamamtory skin conditions)
Shilajit
Edema, rejuvenates and cleanses kidneys (also for blood sugar problems, and strengthens bones if injured or for osteoporosis)
Guduchi
Edema, Supports kidney and liver function, counteracts toxic effects of drugs/chemicals, supports immune system, good for IBS and gastric reflux
Burdock
Edema, helps kidney and liver function, deeply cleansing to liver and blood (good for infections such as boils)
Pippali
For fatty liver: 1/2 t. pippali, 1/2 t. ghee and I t. honey mixed and eaten first thing in the morning followed by a cup of warm water (Pippali noted for strengthening lung function)
Bhumyamalaki
Edema, Protects liver function, liver disease
Bhringaraj
Removes toxins from liver, for enlarged liver, good for gall bladder and blood
Gokshura
Edema, all kidney and urinary problems
Gokshuradi guggulu (stronger than plain Gokshura)
Rejuvenative tonic for kidneys, fatty liver (also good for kidney infection, UTIs, urinary incontinence and prostate symptoms)
