Fascism is overused and has become trite. The left has descended into statism and totalitarianism. But they were already there and this is really just an unmasking.

“Fascism is overused and has become trite. The left has descended into statism and totalitarianism.”

Supposedly, Mussolini himself was unable to come up with a definition for fascism.

I always thought the distinction wasn't about the result, but about how it's implemented. In socialism, the government controls everything and is in charge of providing it. In Fascism, the government controls everything but it's implemented by a ruling class that profits from providing government programs.

We pretty much live in a fascist state...example, Obamacare. The Federal Reserve is Fascist and so secret that we don't even know who the owners are, who profit from it. Republicans spin their view as "privatization". Dems aren't the fascists. The talk is about leaving out the middle man, example insurance companies providing Obamacare.

Reforms are what we thought we were voting for. That would be the government having limited responsibilities and government being as small and as local as possible. We're probably too far down the slippery slope to the trash heap of failed civilizations. There just aren't enough people who see anything wrong with the gov being in charge of stuff.
