Well, I wouldn’t hold onto that hope too hard. The enjoyment is gone now. And race isn’t the driving factor, it is politics.
Some Whites will still play football. Probably mostly in the South and “country folks” elsewhere in the U.S. Upper middle class and wealthy Whites won’t play football anymore.
