Responding as if you were for real and would even read this:
Nearly everyone around me (friends, family, acquaintances) is liberal or progressive. There are a very few of them who understand that the ultimate goals on the left are incompatible with freedom, and those few WANT THAT. They deeply believe that people need a class of elite holier-than-thou leaders who tell the rest how to live. (And they see themselves in that higher up elite class, of course)
Most of them, including my friends and extended family, are misguided by media and friends into thinking liberal = good. I used to be the same way. Liberal ideas SOUND really good. They don’t work because they don’t take into account human nature.
I LOVE my friends and family. I stay quiet about my politics around them. Only if asked would I get into a discussion.
I do not even hate the first group of people I mentioned, acquaintances who deeply believe and campaign for leftists, who don’t find anything in the USA progressive ENOUGH. I deeply, deeply disagree with them politically.
My entire political outlook is one of freedom for the individual. I’m not the only one on FR to feel that way. If you really study the two approaches, liberalism and conservatism, only one of them wants to preserve the kind of light government the founders of the USA envisioned and constructed. There isn’t any other government structure on this planet better than our constitution. Trying for self-government, allowing for the maximum freedom for the people. If there were, I’d be open to it.
Our parties, Dem and Rep, are both thoroughly corrupt, though, so none of us can go by that. Even Supreme Court justices are a shot in the dark these days.
The fact that others having a different political view from you fills you with hate illustrates perfectly how liberals are far less tolerant than others.
Conservatives want to do the things that work...Liberals want to do the things that do not work.
