Our cat isn’t that crazy about sardines. Or salmon, mackerel, etc.
However, we call tuna “kitty crack” because he absolutely has a fit over it. He likes tuna-flavored cat food, but actual canned tuna, OMG he loves it! He doesn’t get a huge quantity but he’ll lick every single tuna molecule out of the can.

I had 2 Siamese cats that loved sardines. When they heard the sound of the lid come off the can, they would jump off the bed and run downstairs to harass me. I had to go into the basement to eat them.
It got to the point that one night I “thought” I would have some sardines. I heard them jump off the bed...
Yes! I love kippered herring out of the can, and smoked oysters, too, but I’m lucky to get my share when the cats smell them after I break the seal.
