Everything liberals accuse the right of doing has been done by them: collusion with Russians, mob behavior, lack of civility, being dictatorial, lying, etc. The list is endless. This is can also happen on a personal level with liberal friends. Here is my story.
I went to my liberal friend for a couple of drinks and to chat on a Friday night. Another liberal friend of his dropped in. Conversation naturally turned to Trump. Over the course of discussing Trump voices were getting louder and I was finding it hard to speak with two voices shouting me down. Then my friend stood up and I started to stand up when he came toward me, jumped on top of me with his hands around my throat and screaming "YOU ARE OUT OF CONTROL!!!" I finally wrestled him off and circled around the room shouting at him, "You're a F****** moron!" And then he screamed "Get out you TRUMPSTER!!!" and starts to cry a bit (maybe realizing he lost a friend). I shrugged and left.
But what struck me was that he had to come across the room to shut me down from saying anything because in his mind "I was out of control." The fact was that he lost control of the argument and then felt he lost control of the situation to the point where he had to physically act. This is projection on a person level.
I'm curious if anybody has a similar story they would like to share.
LOL - I have a liberal relative who accuses others of being racist. At some point I’m going to ask him why he hires no blacks at his stores and why none of his stores are in minority locations. Then I’ll have to duck. He’ll go into a rage.
Sometimes I think they know not what they do... honestly. Thanks and good luck with your family and friends.

None of my liberal acquaintances would do that to me - they value their lives...such as they are.
Their false assumptions about the nature of universe are running into reality.
This produces rage.

I agree with you... I too have thought of them as zombies or the Star Trek BORG. With zombies they want to eat your brain because they are brain dead themselves and can’t stand anything different for themselves. However, I think life experience can make them change and there are a fair number of conservatives who started out as liberal. I don’t think it’s nature (genes) so much, but reasoning and experience that will make them see differently. Even the word conservative and liberal changes with the times.
I suppose we have all had liberal friends at least once in our lives. Maybe he will get better at avoiding them.

Had a similar incident in a bar a while back with a liberal I had to travel with — he was losing.
I think the trigger was when I embarrassed him by turning to the young woman by herself a couple of bar stools down from us and put her in a hypothetical situation of being stalked and threatened by an ex-boyfriend — wold she be happy to wait several days for approval from the government to buy a gun for her own protection? Or would that put her at great risk? The answer was obvious.
He got really p.o.’d and left in a big hissy fit, making a scene in the bar.
I paid his bar tab, and he apologized the next day, saying he talked it over with his wife.
They usually are too emotional to have a reasonable fact-based argument.
Good! They know what’s up — probably learnt the hard way too!

The good thing is I don’t deal with him anymore.
Yeah, reality bends so far and then it rebounds and slaps you up! You hopefully wake up because of the pain.

Never had to raise a hand to any of them...some folks from my past have commented from time to time and when you add the omnipresent self-defense weapon on my hip, it’s enough...
He was my friend. Not any more, but some people you think are good and sensible until you learn otherwise.
