The answer is no ?

At first glance, I believe the author is calculating career length incorrectly. I was one of the "keepers of the flame." We have all been retired a long time.

As an example of this bad decision making by the Senior Command of the military:

Making Male soldiers/ Sailors/ Marines walk in Women's High Heal shoes so they would understand the feminine experience.

For this reason I have been discouraging the young male members of my extended family from enlisting. They would be better off serving their respective communities.

Every general and admiral believes that the present military culture is perfect.

It must be perfect because it made them admirals and generals.

There is no impetus for them to change.

Today's military is no more than a social experiment, bound to fail.

Officers and senior enlisted personnel who saw this coming did the right thing.

They got out.

When did one member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff ever resign in the last decade, in personal protest against the Obama administration’s destructive military policies

No one was left to resign. All that had a backbone were removed from any positions of real power, asked to retire, or forced out.

Trump to remove Mattis after midterms?

https://www.newsmax.com/politics/trump-james-mattis-resign-midterms/2018/09/13/id/881622/

Amid a reported reluctance to acquiesce to President Donald Trump’s policy positions, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis will be fired or resign after the November midterms, Politico reported.

Frustrated, President Trump has privately called the once-billed “Mad Dog” Mattis a “Moderate Dog” behind closed doors, according to the report. President Trump has felt Mattis, a former Marine General, has shown more moderate political views than his once tough-guy nickname suggested.

I’m sorry to say that the military at any one time reflects the USA general population. In my career I saw Wonder Boy Admiral Zumwalt begin the mess that our navy is today.
