It's claimed the adult star, 39, believes she is in danger after revealing her alleged affair with US president Donald Trump.
She also fears pulling out of Celebrity Big Brother this week has made her more of a target.
A source close to the star told The Mirror: "She feels like everyone seems to be against her — Trump fanatics, his aides and even her own fans who will miss out on her appearing on the show."
And they insisted Stormy wasn't interested in money.
"It's not the money she is worried about — it's her safety," they said.
The friend claimed she now keeps a gun at home in the US because of death threats, and Trump supporters appearing at her house.
Stormy Daniels now has two full-time security guards who are with her 24 hours a day.
The controversial star pulled out of CBB just before she was due to enter the house, after an ongoing custody battle over her daughter Caden, 7.
Stormy was also due to appear on Loose Women the following day but pulled out just before.
She was also worried about further legal developments in her row with Trump emerging while she was locked in the CBB house.
Trump's lawyers are accused of paying Stormy Daniels $130,000 (£101,913) in the run-up to the 2016 US election to keep quiet about claims she had sex with the Apprentice host in 2006.
The president's spokesmen have denied he had an affair and have accused Stormy Daniels of lying.
The only danger she faces is that nobody cares to hear anything about her.
