I recall not that long ago that someone was roundly derided for saying that aspirin is a very effective means of birth control if a woman puts a tablet between her knees and keeps it there.
1. If you go into a strange man’s hotel room, the chances that you will be raped are higher than if you just stay in the lobby, maybe significantly higher.
2. If a strange woman comes into your hotel room and you rape her, you have committed a sick, horrendous crime.
“What did you think would happen?“ is a reasonable statement. “You went up there, so no crime was committed“ is not.
