GMTA, that was my first thought also. We have been brainwashed.

Had a 250 savage that was passed down to me...nice shooting little rifle but I didn’t reload back then and buying Norma at a couple dollars per round wasn’t in my budget....traded it off

My wife comes from a shooting and reloading family. When growing up they would go to a friends farm and set up and shoot the groundhogs in his fields. She was ten and she had been given a .22 Hornet to use and hit a hog at around 75 yards and knocked him down and he slowly got up and she cranked of another round into him and put him down for good and handed the .22 Hornet to her Dad said I want a bigger gun. So she ended up with a .223.

My lever gun preference is for a caliber which is dying in my area of the woods, the .35 Remington, nice round!

I just plink with my 177/22 Beeman, my .22 Marlin 60 and my .22 six shooter.

On the plink'n end I play with an AR-57 ,5.7x28mm, 33-gr and 40gr. shes a charm out to a 100 or so yds. just need a little better scope than what I've got.

,,,,,An the other is a Taurus .17HMR pump ,it's deadly on rabbits and coyotes. On the rabbits have use FMJ's or it tears the meat up so bad half the other side will be gone .

I think that it was killed by the very popular 7mm-08 Remington.

I was working at walmart when we were going through the 0bama ammo shortages. We always had .40 S&W.

I wonder if the real story behind the ammo shortage had more to do with all the new gun buyers laying in bricks of .22’s. Or, it could be that ammo makers slowed production to drive up prices. Anyway, It seems to have corrected itself.

Typo. Yep, .218 Bee. Another in the “stinging insects” series ...

Bob Hayley, in Seymour, TX, makes his living by building obsolete ammo. He’s quite the storyteller- I’ve been to his shop, and I can honestly say I’ve never seen so much reloading gear in my life!

“I thought this was gonna be about printer ink.”

I thought it was about bullets but, it’s about cartridges.

What are cartridges?

Probably the 22 Savage High Power- a 227 diameter necked down 30/30 case- was very popular in the early 20th century.

Could be. I don’t recall that I was ever old enough to shoot it. Beautiful rifle though.
