Brother Died Yesterday, Get a Heart Scan

No, this is not a boo-hoo thread.

This is a thread to provide a little advice that may save your life.

My brother died suddenly of a massive heart attack yesterday at age 65. He had no known heart issues and was under doctor's care at the time. He thought he had taken care of himself. He obviously hadn't.

Two things that anyone should try to obtain: An EKG, and most importantly, a heart image scan. The heart scan is also known as a Calcium Heart Score and costs about $99.

The heart scan takes about 5 minutes and produces 64 highly accurate photographs of the heart and arteries. It will show arterial blockages from their calcium content. You will immediately know if you have arterial blockages and if you need intervention of some sort.

Combined with the EKG, you will have an exceptional view of your cardiac health.

My brother didn't have such a scan and his EKG didn't demonstrate any blockages, but he had them, and he died from them.

If you are in the Colorado area, South Denver Cardiology in Littleton performs the scan for $99. Check in your State or area for such a service.

Thanks for paying attention.

Docs say that the first sign of heart attack in 25% of the cases is Sudden Death.

Had zero calcium score. Also normal Ekg. Then had Heart attack with two vessels with bad blockages. Still no calcium on exam DURING my heart attack and cath. Your mileage may vary but calcium score not 100%.

Consider a CT angio (with dye) if you really want to know.

How I wish this had been posted at the beginning of the year, it needs to go viral!

Starting in January I went to UC Health in Aurora Co. for a stress test and cardiology appointment. Failed the stress test, which I knew I would. Next was a Cardiac Catheterization which was supposed to be simple up the wrist procedure but turned out to be terribly painful as vein was collapsing so they had to go up the groin. Found a couple of blockages 60-70% but no stents were put in, treating with drugs. Over 75k hospital charged, insurance paid over 30k and I got the co-insurance bill for over 6k.

All of that expense and trouble could have been saved for only 99 bucks to get the same results.

You can be sure I am scheduling this scan just for a second look.

Thank you so much for this and I’m truly sorry for your loss.

“You can be sure I am scheduling this scan just for a second look.”

That type of action makes this thread worth it. The scan is like turning the lights on in a dark room.

” CT angio (with dye) “

Very true that the CTA is a much more comprehensive test than a CT calcium. Not showing any calcium is an odd result with proven blockages as you had.

There are other tests as well. The CTA, as someone else mentioned in this thread.

The significant difference is the cost and ease to do.

“Being a pilot and having to see a doctor twice a year”

As a private pilot only doing class II & II physicals, it is amazing at the serious medical conditions people find by doing just those.

“If God gave you a malady, you must live or die with it. Period.”

Wrong! God gave us brains and the ability to make decisions.

He expects us to use both.

We don’t live in the garden of Eden. We live on Earth, a place that has everything we need. We just need to figure out for ourselves what that is.

Resignation is for the lazy, and lazy is Satan’s playground.

I have a friend that at 36 had a heart valve replacement. He’s a new man after that.

.
Relax!

No “Heart Scan” would have saved your brother.

What might have saved him was a properly nutritious diet.

A complete pinch of the nerve that controls the heart, right where it exits the spine is the most common cause of heart arrhythmia and stoppage.

Dr. Joel Wallach has been preaching this fact for decades. (but that doesn't make anybody any drug loot) .
