Seriously, I'm a guy, I admit it, I have some very non-politically correct tendencies. I like to look at attractive people and things. It is my self control that keeps me from ogling pretty women.
When you start putting the onus on women to not be overly attractive to men, that's when you're headed towards hijabs and long shapeless smocks. Granted, it would be inappropriate for women to show up in daisy duke shorts and halter tops - unless you're playing Daisy Duke in a movie or play. ;-) The point of contention here I guess is where exactly is "the line" between socially acceptable attire for function (X) and inappropriate dress? At the extremes that's easy to define. The tough part is that gray area near the middle.
BS. Western society has already been a lot more modest and decent WITHOUT ever being in full hijabs. I even recall recently reading about a Moslem, maybe Osama, who studied in AMERICA in the 50s and was so offended by the public dances our society often had back then, where the women were definitely more discreet than the sluttiness now.
