we’ve always had such folks. and many of them have been...quite nice and cause little trouble... try to live without hurting or disturbing anyone else
but nowadays there are so many mental cases and crack addicts and winos and bums....all over the cities and even countryside was filling up with them the last 7 or 8 years...
some very difficult situations, not all anywhere as pleasant or apparently sane as the lady in this video

Saw old photos of San Francisco, guys sleeping in a car around 1930 - they had jackets, ties, looked clean, and were cooking and brewing coffee - over the car engine they had hooked up a stove. Cop was watching them brew coffee.
Homeless women, at least initially, live in their cars. They beg for the kids...and you give, no matter how much you detest begging, you give. And they usually want no help because they are so distrustful.
