When it comes to weddings, the single greatest benefit or mistake in a person's life, I must disagree. Family members should voice constructive opinions, even if it is to state why they believe the persons should not marry. The couple can weigh those opinions for themselves; but after they are married and especially if they have kids, it is too late. It's just regarded as undermining, then, and it often is by jealous in-laws. But the prospective family has a right to know the nature of what they are marrying into or bringing into their own circle.
If this man's accusations are true, that she destituted her father in pursuit of her career and then dumped him, this is a very serious matter that should be investigated by her prospective groom.
I agree completely. He was the most deeply affected by the early and violent death of his mother, and has been the "three's a crowd" to his brother's successful marriage for 7 years (kudos to William and Catharine for being very supportive of him, nevertheless). Now, in his mid-30s, desperately lonely and balding, he sees a woman who looks vaguely like Kate from glimpsing her acting on television, asks to be introduced to her, and now look. His friendship with the Obamas is yet another indicator of his damaged judgment. God save the 6th in line to the throne.
The Duchess of Windsor was always touted as so fashionnable, but I thought her face was homely and that wedding dress was hideoous (her third -- virginal white with a high neck -- LOL). But the royal PR machine was working overtime to maintain a great cover story for the promiscuous Nazi sympathizer (whose bullet they dodged) and her idiot deposed husband.
