It was Rod Rosenstein who signed off on Mueller's wish to raid Donald Trump's personal attorney:
Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein personally gave the green light for the FBI to raid the hotel room and office of President Donald Trumps longtime lawyer Michael Cohen on Monday, The New York Times first reported.Alan Dershowitz called it "very dangerous":Rosenstein oversees special counsel Robert Muellers investigation into Russias role in the 2016 election. The Cohen raid came, in part, from a referral from Muellers team.
The raid was executed by the office of the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York. The man running that office, interim U.S. attorney Geoffrey Berman, is a Trump appointee whom the president personally met with when he was up for the job. Berman also donated $5,400 to Trumps presidential campaign.
"This is a very dangerous day today for lawyer-client relations," he added. The raid sought to obtain documents related to Stormy Daniels. Cohen has claimed he paid Daniels $130,000 for a non-disclosure agreement out of his own pocket and Trump has claimed to be ignorant of the action. It is thought that Mueller is looking to squeeze (and most likely bankrupt) Cohen into saying something - anything- true or not. Mueller will probably again threaten Cohen's family as he did to Michael Flynn, but it is the violation of attorney-client privilege that is most concerning. Once that formerly immutable principle of the law is rendered meaningless the entire legal system is in jeopardy. The willingness of Rosenstein to mastermind the erosion of the law signals in no uncertain terms that it is his solitary intent to take Donald Trump down.Dershowitz, who has drawn the ire of Democrats for defending Trump, said Mueller's move is also dangerous because it gives the FBI the option of deciding what information seized from Cohen to pursue.
"I tell [clients] on my word of honor that what you tell me is sacrosanct," he said. "And now they say, just based on probable cause ... they can burst into the office, grab all the computers, and then give it to another FBI agent and say, 'You're the firewall. We want you now to read all these confidential communications, tell us which ones we can get and which ones we can't get.'"
"If this were Hillary Clinton being investigated and they went into her lawyer's office, the ACLU would be on every television station in America, jumping up and down," he added.
These desperation tactics indicate that Mueller obviously has little to nothing in his Russian foray and is in need of fabricating trumped up charges with which to coerce witnesses into saying whatever he wants them to say.

He looks like the type that has a history of tattling on others incessantly in school. K-12 and maybe even college. Just sayin’.
I find it hard to believe that the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court can not put an end to this crap. Unless he is art of the Obama Deep State also.
In before the Sessions bashing.

And Trump appointed this fill in the blank?
Boy does that stink or what?
The entire conspiracy stinks because of compound bias.
Rosenstein and the lawyers work in the same environmnt where if they cannot convict they put such stink on the target that he is ruined forever. They make the target the walking dead.
Let me guess, this is all part of Sessions plan. Now the DOJ attorneys that Jeff has passed the buck to can void the client attorney privilege of all of those involved in the phantom sealed indictments weve heard about.
I hope I hope I hope that Trump fires Rosenstein’s punk ass tomorrow.
Fire Mueller. Fire Rosenstein and charge him. Then jail him. He is as dirty as the day is long. And a seditious weasel.
Fart...
Yep, Sessions said before Congress under oath that Rosenstein was a man of honor.
If you are able to pull it off, you are going to unleash hell. Good luck with that.
Congress should call Rosenstein in tomorrow to testify what is going on with this investigation and to grill him publicly. Including his and Mueller’s conflict of interest. And Mueller’s partisan legal team goons.
I hear ya.
"Never hit anyone in anger, unless you're absolutely sure you can get away with it."
Rosenstein just self-impeache himself.
Rosenstein can try but he’s going to fail. Suppose Trump did violate a FEC rule, or somehow they think 150k speaking fee from some Ukrainian that they say is collusion and he got a better deal to build a Trump hotel! Or even some privileged but salacious info they stole from his lawyer’s office?
These stupid morons at the DOJ are not going to get Trump impeached and kick out of office with this stupid nonsense.
One day Rosenstein you’re going to get fired and probably investigated for illegal wrongdoing.
Can’t anybody get rid of Rosenputz?
I'm reaching a point where I think any of those three would do a better job than Sessions.
