Pelosi and Schumer declared victory on Friday following President Trump’s fake veto, i.e. after The Donald signed a monster spending bill which blows the budget into oblivion. However, Trump promised this will never happen again after signing the 1.3 trillion dollars omnibus spending bill that was passed by the Republican dominated Congress. The omnibus bill does not address the border wall nor immigration issues. Trump complained that the Congress “created a series of documents that nobody was able to read”, hinting at the 2000+ pages of documents passed by the legislature, with lawmakers having less than 36 hours to read it. Needless to say, Democrats were celebrating on Friday at the news that Trump will sign the omnibus bill, as the POTUS initially announced he may veto the spending bill, yet he changed his mind and signed it after all, despite “being unhappy about it”, to quote the President’s own words.

A Veto would have caused a Government Shutdown that would have been blamed on the Republican Congress and the Republican President.
While we here at FR know a Government Shutdown really isn’t, and that it is pretty meaningless, the average brainwashed, ignorant, and uneducated Voter does not. The poison in the Kool Aid has seeped into the Nationwide Municipal Water Supply.
The first narrative the Democrat and their Media sycophants would have been pointed out is that POTUS Trump Vetoed the Bill knowing full well that it would be overridden, so he just did it out of spite and his hatred for the American People. Do people here think that wouldn’t have happened?
I guarantee you that if the Bill had just scraped by, POTUS Trump would have worked on the weakest Supporters and gotten more of what he wanted before signing it.
This Bill, like it or not was as Bipartisan as they come and a lot of ignorant Voters think that’s a good thing.
All the handwringing would not change the simple fact that if the Hildebeast was Elected, and she would have been if any one of those running against Donald Trump had secured the GOP Nomination, we would be looking at a Liberal SCOTUS for the next 50 Years, Gun Confiscation and an America that would just as useless ant any European Union Country.
Do I like what happened with this Bill, hell no, but the alternative under a Democrat Regime would make the Legislation look like a pimple on Hillary’s Butt.

POTUS should have called Schumer’s bluff. He should have gone on TV from the Oval Office with visual aids of images of wirn out equipment, obsolete systems still in front line use, vids of recently retired servicemen decrying the conditions of their deployments, their benefits, their equipment. One thing Trump surely knows is how to identify working with below standard equipment and supplies as well as having the ability to explain why spending more in some particular areas increases capabilities in others as well. He can draw on building experience on how trying to complete a project on the cheap causes at best delays and at worst disaster. And he can squarely put the blame on Schumer. These things he did not do.

He doesn’t have to spend it all. As someone pointed out, this is an Omnibus Bill, not a Budget. He can do the same thing Barry did and spend it how he likes.

The President would have to hold the bill 10 days and it would become law. If congress was adjourned then it would be pocket veto. With congress in session, yes it would be law just like if he signed it. Problem being the govt. would have shut down at midnite and the dems would have a heyday with a 10 day Trump caused shutdown.
This 2332 page bill had to have been cooked up for quite awhile. What we do know is that they make them almost impossible to read and throw the monster bill in front of people with no decent amount of time to decipher it.
GOP is as horrible as Obama.
This bill is a disaster.
And that is a fact.
It is also a fact that Trump has done some fantastic things.
But this is not one of them.
