Expect An After Easter Bombshell Announcement From Speaker Ryan
Editors Note: Story just hit the wires a few minutes after midnight.
By Myra Adams, Townhall
Mark your calendars! As if there isnt enough daily drama swirling around Washington, in early or mid-April there is likely to be an announcement that will titillate the nations capital.
According to a frontline GOP strategist (name asked to be withheld) after Easter is when House Speaker Paul Ryan will announce his decision whether or not to run for reelection in Wisconsins 1st congressional district. Speaker Ryan, age 48, has represented his home district since winning the seat in 1998 at age 28.
Ryans 2018 reelection decision is imminent given Wisconsins filing deadline of June 1 with an August 14 primary. Thus, April is the expected time frame when this strategist believes the speaker will drop his bombshell.
Wisconsins 1st district is the most southeastern in the state. It is situated along the eastern portion of the northern Illinois border encompassing Kenosha and Racine counties including portions of Milwaukee, Rock, Walworth, and Waukesha counties.
In 2016, Ryan won the district with 65 percent of the vote, a slight increase from 63 percent in 2014. A vast improvement from 2012 when Ryan won 54.9 percent after his name appeared twice on his districts ballot first as the GOPs vice presidential nominee on Mitt Romneys presidential ticket and as a congressional candidate for reelection.
Upon making the announcement in April, Ryan, in his role as speaker of the House, will immediately become a lame duck speaker with his power significantly diminished the reason why Ryan is waiting as long as politically feasible.

Why we can expect an 'after Easter' bombshell announcement from Speaker Ryan. Its likely that the wake-up call Speaker Ryan warned his colleagues about this week is also a personal alarm that says, Time to start your second career.https://t.co/kAlTiZdmEH

Mark Meadows is by far the best candidate for next speaker.
Interesting.
Hes quitting so he can challenge Trump in 2020. Put money on that. Maybe he wants to run with FLAKE.
This is click bait and not “Breaking” news.
When (and if) Ryan announces he will retire, THAT will be “Breaking” news - not until.
OMG you’re right.
Both sides are absolute scum.
Time to put Alan West in as speaker!!
He'll probably resign immediately on May 31, in order to help the GOP achieve their seeming goal of losing the House this fall via deprivation of the Janesville area of good primary candidates.
I just heard McCabe was fired.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
hope you’re right.
no down side.
draws line in the sand.
He will reluctantly — and selflessly — run for reelection.
I'm not so sure. Once in power, they'll be faced with the reality that impeaching Trump means President Pence who could conceivably serve for two additional full terms, a basket of pissed-off Deplorables, and a platform of payback. I think the Dems will change their tune on impeachment.
No, bad news, as the district will likely flip to Dem.
I hope you’re right
Paul Ryan (and Mitch McConnell) are the reasons that the Republicans might lose the House (and Senate.)
Had they supported Trump like Pelosi and Obama supported the corrupt Obama) there wouldn’t be disgruntled Republicans, the ones who support Trump, but see the House and Senate RINOs as undermining every effort he undertakes with the support of the American people on Trump’s side - immigration, defense, tariffs, tax cuts, etc.
Imagine if Republicans had been out there celebrating and running on Job increases, illegal immigration cutbacks, tax cuts, pride in American exceptionalism, etc., etc.
Has anyone seen Ryan or McConnell out there taking pride in all these accomplishments?
Nope, they’ve been in hiding, only emerging when they want to criticize Trump. They deserve to lose.
Sadly, it means Pelosi will spend two years trying to impeach Trump.
Couple of weeks early for April Fools isn’t it?
That may be so, but in reality, it gives us a much better chance of retaining the house, especially if the race is nationalized behind a MAGA agenda and the Republican candidates get behind it.
It means that Ryan is losing the house.
Where did you hear McCabe was fired?
Good riddance, if true.
GotDog, if that aint draining the swamp then nothing is:-)
