Some things just don't add up.
It is well known that the largely discredited Steele dossier was paid for by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democrat National Committee. We know that Associate Deputy Attorney General Bruce Ohr was funneling information from his wife- who was working for Fusion- to the FBI. Ohr failed to disclose his wife's involvement and compensation and was demoted.
Bruce Ohr, the Department of Justice official who brought opposition research on President Donald Trump to the FBI, did not disclose that Fusion GPS, which performed that research at the Democratic National Committee’s behest, was paying his wife, and did not obtain a conflict of interest waiver from his superiors at the Justice Department, documents obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation show.Tonight we learn that both Steele and Fusion GPS are even more deeply linked to the Obama administration. The Democratic National Committee (DNC) hired Fusion GPS to gather and disseminate damning info about Trump, and they in turn paid Nellie Ohr, a former CIA employee with expertise in Russia, for an unknown role related to the “dossier.” Bruce Ohr then brought the information to the FBI, kicking off a probe and a media firestorm.
The Barack Obama presidential campaign hired Fusion GPS in 2012 to dig up dirt on Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, according to a book released on Tuesday.The Obama campaign hid its payments to Fusion GPS through its law firm, Perkins Coie. The arrangement is similar to the one that the Clinton campaign and Democratic National Committee used to pay Fusion for its investigation of then-candidate Donald Trump in 2016.

The disclosure that Victoria Nuland started the process is contained in “Russian Roulette,” a book released Tuesday by Yahoo News report Michael Isikoff and Mother Jones magazine’s David Corn.
Two committees, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the Senate Judiciary Committee, are investigating how Obama officials promoted Mr. Steele’s 35-page dossier. It makes a series of criminal charges against President Trump and his associates, contending there was an “extensive conspiracy” between them and the Kremlin. This supposed collusion has not been substantiated publicly. House intelligence committee Republicans on Monday said their 14-month investigation found no collusion.
“Russian Roulette” shows Obama people played a deeper role in promoting the dossier to get it into the hands of law enforcement.
Mr. Steele, who was excited over his findings about Mr. Trump supposed dalliance with Russian prostitutes and purported collusion with the Kremlin, pressed his handler, Glenn Simpson, of Fusion GPS, to let him go to the FBI.
In a February interview with CBS, Nuland had this to say:
Former State Department official Victoria Nuland told CBS News' "Face the Nation" that the dossier compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele was brought to the State Department's attention in July of 2016, which then shared the information with the FBI. Nuland's new details concerning the dossier comes on the heels of the release of a newly declassified memo crafted by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., Rep Trey Gowdy, R-South Carolina, and two staff investigators.She failed to mention that she was one who contacted the FBI."He [Steele] passed two to four pages of short points of what he was finding, and our immediate reaction to that was, 'This is not in our purview,'" said Nuland, who served as assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs during the Obama administration. "'This needs to go to the FBI, if there is any concern here that one candidate or the election as a whole might be influenced by the Russian federation. That's something for the FBI to investigate.'"
She added, "our reaction when we saw this [was,] it's not our -- we can't evaluate this. And frankly, if every member of the campaign who the Russians tried to approach and tried to influence had gone to the FBI as well in real time, we might not be in the mess we're in today."
But what's interesting is that in July 2016 Steele was already in the employ of Fusion GPS and by default, the Clinton campaign and the NC. So when Nuland says that the Steele dossier was brought to the attention of the State Department, it was brought by Fusion GPS under the aegis of the Clinton campaign- who was paying for the dossier. This seems to have happened very quickly as Steele wrote his first memo on June 20, 2016.

Here is what I think. (I know this is long, but this is complicated...I have tried to follow it closely)
I don’t think The Russians (in caps!) were trying to help Trump win, not at all...that is the LEAST likely scenario, and far fetched. The only thing I think The Russians would do is dangle some negative bait about Hillary in front of Trump people, see if someone on the Trump team bit on it (Which nobody on the Trump side did even IF they dangled something)...that is far fetched. The Russians probably didn’t think Trump would win anyway. All it would get them is some power, something to hold over their heads if they got in. So I think this is least likely.
What is NOT far fetched is one of these two scenarios:

LEAST LIKELY OF THE TWO: Russians dangled bait (dossier stuff, hooker/pee/matress, etc) in front of people they knew were looking for material (FUSION GPS, DNC, HILLARY) and they bit on it. What do the Russians get out of doing this? Something to hold over the winner’s head, to be used for future favors. Blackmail.

SCENARIO 2.
MOST LIKELY (And what it appears ACTUALLY happened):
STAGE 1.) Obama White House/Hillary Campaign/DNC/FBI/CIA want to surveil the Trump Campaign. They need a reason to do it. Now, Obama administration officials have been combing through the NSA database in 2016, to the point
The easiest path to Surveil a US citizen is through the FISA process simply because the whole process is so secretive, compartmented, and not open to easy scrutiny. (The CIA is in on this because Brennan has made his disdain for Trump quite clear, so they can be counted on to be helpful.)
Three important things to keep in mind:
***ITEM 1: FISA is retroactive. If they get it approved, they can go back in time. Fishing.
***ITEM 2: Since there are two “hops” available, they can get ANYONE in the Trump campaign, probably even a secretary on the hook, and using two “hops” (people communicated with) they can cover the communications and activities of the ENTIRE Trump campaign and everyone in it. THIS IS WHERE CARTER PAGE CAME IN.
***ITEM 3: Because this is a foreign entity outside the US, the FBI will know nothing about it until it is “credibly” taken to them for action. The CIA gathers intelligence. It cannot prosecute anything. So...to ‘credibly’ bring accusations of Trump Collusion with Russia which will be readily accepted for both private and public reasons, Fusion GPS selects: Christopher Steele who had previously worked with the FBI and will provide a “credible source” that they can fall back on.
STAGE 2.) The Clinton campaign instructs their law firm, Perkins Coie (also used by the DNC AND by the Obama Campaign and the Organizing for America outfit) to hire Fusion GPS (which they hope will provide a further layer of obfuscation and concealment instead of them hiring Fusion GPS directly)
STAGE 3.) Fusion GPS will find the negative information on Trump with loads of help from Clinton Cronies, the timelines are CHOCK-FULL of them popping up here and there. Then, once they have found the information with Christopher Steele as the conduit (who is conveniently on the payroll of Fusion GPS) they have a ‘credible’ source to the FBI because HE HAS WORKED WITH THEM BEFORE IN THE PAST! So, when they go in front of a FISA judge, to get surveillance on Carter Page (who is someone who had Russian connections...an ‘easy’ in) and they ask how credible the source is because of the fake dossier, they can say “We trust our source, Christopher Steele because he has worked directly with the FBI in the past, and has Russian connections.” Without knowing the Russian connections, the judge will approve. It takes them three tries, but they eventually get the FISA warrant signed for the first time in Mid-Late October 2016. IT WOULD GET RENEWED THREE TIMES, with the last renewal taking place in June of 2017. This give them their legal “in” for spying they had already done...and more.
STAGE 4:) They have already been surveilling the Trump campaign (in 2013, there were 10,000 accesses to the NSA surveillance database. In 2016, there were 30,000! I think Michael Rogers may have been the one to bring this to light, and they skewered him for it) they begin looking for a way to get it into the FBI’s hands openly for a full and public investigation (before the election, and before the FBI got the FISA survelliance approved). Brennan went to Capital Hill in late August 2016 to meet with Harry Reid, with the Steele Dossier, and voila! Two days later, Harry Reid contacted the FBI to insist they begin an investigation into collusion with the Russians by the Trump team (all based on using Carter Page as the crowbar).

During all this time these events are going on above, we get Russians and Australians (ALL of whom have ties with the Clintons) approaching people on the Trump team (Carter Page, Popadopoulos, Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner, etc) they were clearly trying to get someone in a situation where they could be accused of conspiring, but...none of them bit.
The Justice Department was in on this (See Bruce Ohr (Justice Dept) and his wife (worked for Fusion GPS) as was Brennan (CIA) and the FBI (Strozk, his girfriend Lisa Page, Comey, et al) and the Obama Administration, I have no doubt.
This is the biggest scandal in American history, IMO. Let’s see how this plays out...
