The Independent has just reported that South Africa‘s parliament just voted to seize privately owned land from farmers.
In the past, government seizure of privately owned farmland has always resulted in huge reductions in food production, whether it be in the Soviet Union, China, Zimbabwe, or, most recently, in Venezuela, where the recent government seizure of farmland was followed by most adults losing an average of 43 pounds in two years.
Why do the member’s of South Africa‘s parliament think the results will be any different this time?
Since most Westerners really don't know nor understand anything at all about this once first world nation, they assume far too many things about it and the people who live there, which they shouldn't. Then they very glibly say extremely foolish things, which are massively hurtful to those of us who know the facts and/or have family and/or friends there.
Re the farmers...since now they will NOT be paid anything at all for their homes, possessions, farm equipment, seed, land, their net worth shall be lowered considerably. And they and their ancestors have been on these farms far longer than most of the blacks now living in RSA. And not just no, but HELL NO, no blacks EVER owned these lands!
The plight of the white, non-farmer Afrikaners has been and is still also highly problematic. Once Mandela and the COMMIE ANC took power, quotas ( akin to our AFFIRMATIVE ACTION, but far worse ! )were installed. Whites were kicked out of jobs/positions and the ones who stayed wound up having to do not only their jobs, but at least one or two others as well ( for the no-show jobs given out as "PERKS" to members of the ANC and their family members ) who either could NOT do these jobs or who NEVER even bothered to show up for work!
And now there is a water shortage, which is about to hit a total collapse, because the blacks who were/are in charge either had less then no idea what to do, or just never did anything at all because they're morons!
The Rand is losing value as I type and it hasn't been in "good" shape, vis-a-vis other currencies, since Mandela got his stinking COMMIE claws on the power.

On a different topic,no, it can not happen here, as it has/is happening over there. And that's another "hot button" for me, when it is posted here.
First of all, though the blacks living in RSA are from different tribes ( yes, this DOES still make a difference! ), and that some blacks have been there longer than others, not to mention the fact that ALL of them don't belong to/support the ANC, they ARE all still black and are the vast majority of the populace!
The populace of this nation is such, even with all of the damned ILLEGAL ALIENS AND THEIR KIDS, that there is NO single group that can or shall any time soon become the majority of the populace.
Blacks, who support BLM and/or the NEW BLACK PANTHERS, other such fringe groups, are a minority.
The madeup, stupid name for a group of VERY different peoples, may be a larger number than blacks; however, inside that group you have the LA RAZA ( Mexicans ) types, Cubans, Puerto Ricans, Guatemalans, Dominicans, etc. who all HATE each other! And the blacks HATE them, as they HATE the American blacks!
Then there are the Indians, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Korean, Fillipino, and American Indian groups. Are they all going to join in with the blacks and/or "Hispanics"? Nope!
And finally, not a race....THE MUSLIMS.
Right now, all of these people don't outnumber, let alone comprise a majority here and shan't any time soon; not to mention the fact that outside of the Black Muslims ( and no, they don't really count ) these groups won't join together to gain power and replicate the white hatred that surges through RSA today, nor, unli8ke their counterparts in RSA "own" a major political or any, for that matter, party!
Yes, the Dem party favors some of these groups, but the whites in it are NEVER going to give up their power to them!
Comparing what's happening in RSA today, with some supposed American future is like comparing apples and razor blades!
Should the Dems once again get both House and the presidency, of course things will be terrible here; we just had an 8 year taste of this and wee barry did NOT have both Houses for both of his terms!

I haven't heard of nor read anything about necklacing, but I don't pretend to know everything that's going on there now.
What I DO know of, are the terrible black rampaging riots, but blacks, at Universities. Think Antifa armed with knives and worse, in the middle of the day, during class and test time, multiplied by 1,000s and you might begin to get an idea of it.

What bothers me to no end is the lack of discernment among so many. They see people such as Obama and Hillary and even Maxine Waters or Pelosi and cannot detect what to us is something obviously not normal or right.

Yes, this nation was very divided just before, during, and somewhat after the Civil War; however, we just might be in a worse place now, than back then. We're absolutely more "fractured", now.
