I remember watching him years ago. He seemed a pretty reasonable person and was very knowledgeable about the Bible. I couldn't say about his particular Church dogma though.
What part did he get wrong? Just wondering.

Let’s see.

Isolation of congregational members from any non-member, especially including family. This also extended to keeping children from any involvement or interaction with their peers “outside” the church for any reason.

Women were treated as chattel.

Often contradictory directives regarding one’s comportment during Holy days.

Promotion of the most esoteric sections of the Talmud, especially the “food laws”.

“Encouraging” the donation to the church of whatever remained of one’s second tithe at the end of the Feast of Tabernacles. This in addition to the first tithe, and third tithe every 3rd year.

Herbie’s knowledge of the Bible was twisted to milk the maximum amount of money from the flock. He lived the high life while preaching restraint and frugality.

He was a typical mega-church charlatan that knew how to subtly brainwash and mislead while appearing reasonable and upright.
