Not curling!
Have you SEEN what it’s done for that Russian honey?!
On the bigger game you see at the Olympics, I think it takes a lot of skill. I also like those guys who broom in front of it. That is a nice thing for them to do for the guy who pushed it.
Actually curling looks like it requires a great deal of fitness...surely sweeping that broom gets the blood flowing...I’ve gone skiing only once...not much exercise there...just squat and start accelerating until you get out of control and land on your butt.
I’ve gone skating several times but never got past skating a few feet.
Snowshoeing!
Cross country skiing is good too.
When I did my avalanche rescue course in the army, we spent 7 days in the back mountains around Jasper area, and we used skins on skis. We could ski uphill and the whole nine yards. We made our own snow huts to sleep in, and learned all about avalanches. Basically, if you’re caught in one, you’re screwed, it just took a week to learn it.
As for the Olympics, I don’t care, I don’t watch. I have far better things to do. I have three kids who need to learn horsemanship, shooting, and a wide variety of outdoor skills.
It’s got to be curling!
