There’s a reason that for several years a poll which asks, “What do you feel is your greatest threat?” is answered by a healthy majority with “the federal government.” This is not how the Founders envisioned America.
The Founders vision began to die early with Marbury v. Madison. It began a slow death with the Civil War, accelerated during the first progressive movement around the turn of the 20th Century, accelerated further under FDR, and finally died when communists took over the Dem Party and many of our nation’s institutions. We are in a post-Constitutional phase.
