Should doctors ask patients if they own guns? Currently, ObamaCare bans the federal government from using patient medical records to compile a list of gun owners. But following the Newtown, CT shootings, President Obama issued an executive order clarifying that the Affordable Care Act [ObamaCare] does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) similarly encourages physicians to ask patients if they own firearms in the name of protecting child safety. As a physician, I consider this advice misguided.

That is real purdy.
“there was a very brief period a few years ago in my neck o Colorado that the gun question was being asked along with such questions as Do you feel safe in your home?, etc.”
Just a couple of months ago a PA pulled that crap on me. Stubborn, self-righteous taco-bending piece of crap. Had the nerve to try that “safety of the children” BS.
I told him you don’t keep children safe by running around like a giant pussy with your skirt up over your head; you keep them safe by teaching gun safety and marksmanship.

No guns at my house. They’re too scary. Always going off and shooting people randomly. Especially in certain neighborhoods. I’ll just call the cops if I find myself in a bad situation.
This is my rifle
This is my gun................

The correct answer is always no.
don’t worry it was my question I asked , the article was just something to verify it was happening and it was an old not very good article. You missed nothing.
Just stay out of it.
My doctor would not dream of asking such a question.
Change doctors.
well if some bone headed doctor ask you about your guns, ask the sicko about his or her sex life>
Good Morning Sir,
Few and far between.
Place a footnote next to the question and at the bottom of the page write the following:
According to the CDC, medical malpractice causes approximate 400,000 preventable deaths per year, which means I am 12 times more likely that I will be killed by a doctor than I will by a gun. If you are truly concerned about my safety and welfare, then the question you should ask is not whether I own a gun — which I don’t — but how many times a year do you seek treatment from a medcial professional.
If your doctor manifests leftist tendencies, tell him or her “hey, I got hemorrhroids that are burning like an acetylene torch with the O2 on full.”
