Appearing on Fox News last week, actor Scott Baio explained a very important fact about President Trumps rhetorical style. In responding to attacks on the presidents tone and and general fitness for office, Baio had this to say: Im going to help the media right now, okay, Im going to try to help them
Its not going to go anywhere, but Im going to try to help them because theyve called the president, the president has dementia, hes and idiot, hes not mature
Im from Brooklyn, President Trump is from Queens. This is what we do. We mess with people. Thats it.

Donald is channeling his interior Andy Jackson. Keep it up!
While true what you say.....but what about the whiney liberalsin NYC? And the ones infesting S Florida?
p
Style wise, yeah.
Constitution wise, not so much :-(
I spent the weekend taking a certification class. The students were all guys who lead a youth organization. We came from three states. Some of us knew some of the guys, no one knew everyone. We also all stayed in a guys cabin.
When someone new came in Friday night, it wasn’t ten minutes before we were busting and cajoling each other like old friends.
I could have skipped the class and just hung out with these guys all weekend.
That’s what normal do. Trump is a normal.
My actual accent is a conglomeration and not a "pure" NYC one, due to where I went to school ( out of NYC for high school and college ) and also a mix of generations.
OTOH...you really don't want to mess with me, in "type". ;^)
What's with YOU...style over substance?
Fuggggggggggggggggggggedddddddddabooooouuuuuut it!
She's one of the new New Yorkers. Immigrants from around the world and liberal whites from around the US. She part of that latter group.
The Trump and Baio NYC generation was great, but they've gotten out.
QWERTY ergo TYPO!
Doesn’t that answer start with, “Fust ovall...”
I HATE the whinging, voice trained, B-O-R-I-N-G, pol doofuses, who drone on and one and on is a fake accent!
I think that a lot of people who were not coddled as kids, and grew-up trading barbs “get him.” People who have led insulated lives treat him like he is from Mars.
And there ya have it.
Partly, but I often don’t check prior to hitting the posting button, which I know I should do, but hey...I’m a born & bred New Yorker! We shoot from the hip and want it out there ASAP!
Nooooooooooooooooooo....she’s from Philly!
I think you’ve said it best of all.
Perhaps the media does get it (who knows?) but they want to assure the rest of America that Trump cannot be taken seriously.
I’ve personally loved Trump’s style from the beginning. I had no idea (and I am a Manhattanite) that he was so funny.
“ENTJ The Executive
What stresses out an ENTJ:
Being in an environment that lacks vision or ideas for the future.
Being in an environment where others dont appreciate their vision.
Being interrupted.
Being surrounded by (or guilty of) incompetence.
Poorly managed change.
Laziness.
Having to be a follower instead of a leader.
Not being able to make their goals come to fruition.
Having to deal with intense emotions from others.
Feeling guilt over being critical towards others.
Not having their strongly held values validated or respected.
Small talk or frivolous conversations.
When experiencing stress, ENTJs may at first become argumentative and combative with anyone who is causing it. They may feel that they are losing control, and feel an urgent need to complete a task. If the stress continues, they become distracted by the urgency and need to get something done. They may engage in compulsive, misdirected activities like cleaning, counting, or inspecting. They will feel a growing sense of failure, and a rising sense of anger and frustration. If they are in a state of chronic stress, they may fall into the grip of their inferior function, introverted feeling. When this happens they may become uncharacteristically emotional and furious and withdraw from others to prevent anyone seeing their lack of emotional stability. They may become hypersensitive about their relationships, misinterpreting tiny, insignificant details and believing that others hate or dislike them.”
Very much so.
But if you’d read what I actually wrote, I’ll take the substance of what is getting done. I think even Obama was a lot more casual than I like; think Harvard seminar on international affairs. Kind of odd as I’m a native San Franciscan, a blue collar worker most of my life and paid my way through college playing every kind of music from C&W to punk to reggae. If things had worked out differently I would have GLADLY gotten a Ph.D. and climbed into the ivory tower there to stay; instead I ended up welding and roofing and such.
I grew up in CO. We don’t speak like Trump does but I understand him just fine.
Maybe the problem is that the MSM talking heads and other liberals
don’t understand anything American!?
