Its been two years (January 2, 2016) since Ammon Bundy began the Oregon Standoff protest at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Harney County, Oregon.
It was a protest launched based on the notion that one should "love thy neighbor" as in Dwight and Steven Hammond.
The Hammonds were reporting to the federal prison at Terminal Island, California that day ordered back after serving lighter sentences to serve out five year mandatory sentences for "terrorism" because they lit a backfire to protect their property from a brush fire.
The jury heard Ammon Bundy on the stand describing the stand he took and found him and six other "leaders" of the protest not guilty on October 27th, 2016.
Bundy's defense lawyer Marcus Mumford then asked for his release but the prosecution said there was a Nevada retainer....
....When asked to see the paperwork. Mumford was told it was "in the office". As Mumford continued to argue for Bundy's release he was descended upon by a group of federal marshals tackled, tased and arrested.
Criminal charges were filed against Mumford with marshals saying he took an aggressive stance towards them. But when Mumford's lawyer asked for cell phone records of the marshals communications about Mumford, the criminal charges were dropped.
Then the Chief US District Judge in Oregon, Michael Mosman, moved to disbar Mumford from the federal court in Oregon......
...full hearing of evidence in the disbarment is set... on January 8th.
May 8th is the trial date for W. Joseph Astarita. Astarita is the FBI Hostage Rescue Team agent accused of lying about the shots he fired at the truck driven by LaVoy Finicum on January 26th, 2016.
Ryan Bundy, who was riding in the truck, was injured and its believed the shrapnel wound he sustained came from Astaria's gun........

The Hammonds and my family have been friends since the 1800’s. In no way shape or form could they or can they ever be considered terrorists...and setting a self-protective back fire in ranching country is not a terrorist act.
The BLM must have been under orders from someone higher on the chain to “get” the Hammonds. The real job of people who have the capacity to get the Hammonds out of jail is to find the person(s) who want whatever the Hammonds own. What is it on the Hammond’s property that is that valuable? Would be interesting to get a geological survery, wouldn’t it?
The shooting of the rancher by that FBI agent is a travesty. But we already know the FBI is an honest broker, right?
And the Oregon judicial system is another travesty. Where did all those so called impartial judges come from...California I’d bet.
From one of the articles linked above:
Uranium on BLM-Administered Lands in OR/WA
In September 2011, a representative from Oregon Energy, L.L.C. (formally Uranium One), met with local citizens, and county and state officials, to discuss the possibility of opening a uranium oxide (yellowcake) mine in southern Malheur County in southeastern Oregon. Oregon Energy is interested in developing a 17-Claim parcel of land known as the Aurora Project through an open pit mining method. Besides the mine, there would be a mill for processing. The claim area occupies about 450 acres and is also referred to as the New U uranium claims.
On May 7, 2012, Oregon Energy LLC made a presentation to the BLM outlining its plans for development for the mine.
The Vale District has agreed to work with Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife on mitigation for the New U uranium claims, which are located in core sage grouse habitat. Although the lands encompassing the claims have been designated core, the area is frequented by rockhounds and hunters, and has a crisscrossing of off-highway vehicle (OHV) roads and other significant land disturbance from the defunct Bretz Mercury Mine, abandoned in the 1960s.
However, by the fall of 2012 the company said that it was putting its plans for the mine on hold until the uncertainty surrounding sage grouse issues was resolved.
I found what was posted was informative enough for me to make my determination of whether I would visit the site or not. It isn’t clickbait, though I decided not to visit the site myself.
The Hammond Legal File, is a 682 page legal history of the Hammond familys decades long fight over land rights with the BLM and Department of Fish and Wildlife in Harney County, Oregon. Nestled in the pages was a letter that Santilli dubbed, The Mineral Letter and has never been seen until now.
The letter was addressed to Chad Karges, head of The Department of Fish and Wildlife whose office is located at the Refuge. While the letter did not reveal a clear connection between Malheur and Uranium One, we did find it revealed that as of 2012 the mineral rights surrounding and inside the property itself, belonged to 2 private investment firms. That information coupled with Uranium Ones Facebook post does open the door for possibility.
From the ‘Oregon Shootout’ link:
What he does point to, however, is a U.S. Bureau of Land Management notation thats titled, Uranium on BLM-Administered Lands in OR/WA, that talks about a May 2012 presentation from Oregon Energy LLC to develop a uranium oxide mine, in concert with the Department of Fish and Wildlife, in southern Malheur County in southeastern Oregon, Rappoport wrote.
The much-publicized standoff between Oregonian residents and law enforcement has taken place by the Mahleur National Wildlife Refuge.
Rappopport went on: What does this have to do with Hillary and Bill Clinton? The short version is: theres a case to be made that they, through Uranium One and the Clinton Foundation, facilitated the sale of Uranium One to Putin and the Russians. And if so, and if this area of Oregon is projected to be part of that uranium mining deal, then we are looking at a stunning coincidence: the U.S. federal government is coming down hard on a group of protesters who are occupying, for their own reasons, a very valuable piece of territory that goes far beyond the issue of private cattle grazing on government land.
I think the bloggers are starting to play you like Trump plays the LSM - always an easy way to get a rise.
Well, if they like it I’ll have to give them more of it.
Because posters want to make sure you’re on the job....
Can’t argue with that - I have my own pet peeves - just ask those who like to go all “concern troll” w/o donating to FR.....Happy New Year!
You really don’t have a life, do you?
No.
Posting those eight words pretty much ate up my whole day.
Strangely, they don't...
I wonder why...
Because they know that I derive great joy from busting blogpimps.
Keeps me out of trouble.
May I suggest a more enjoyable hobby like stamp collecting or collecting "My Little Pony" toys
Those ponies don’t squeal when you kick ‘em.
Blogpimps do.
