A 1911 and a Glock walk into a bar..

The 1911 says to the Glock..

"Hey you ugly foreigner, I can drink you under the table..."

The Glock replies, "LOL, Old Timer, you're done after only 8 rounds..."

Bada-Bing-Bada-BOOM!

The owners are still German, nicht wahr? That means profits—which could have fueled economic growth here—instead make their contribution to the German economy.

My two old Browning Hi-Powers are still adequate, they have been accurate and reliable but I sure would love to have some of the more modern ones.

My wish list would include several Sigs including this one, a bunch of Glocks including a full size 10mm, A bunch of old S&W revolvers including model 29, model 17, and 57. At least one Colt series 70 M1911. Several Ruger Revolvers.

I would like to have maybe a hundred others but I could live with just those.

Then I would start listing Rifles, shotguns, air guns, cars and so on.

Good one! But you should update the joke since 8 round mags for 1911s have been out for years - and unlike a Glock, you can safely carry with one in the chamber.

Skeeter Skelton once mentioned a Texas Ranger who carried a 1911 fully loaded, with the hammer cocked and the safety off and the grip safety taped down.

When asked if that was dangerous, he replied that it sure was.

It's a kick watching the gun wars here, some folks are VERY adamant that THEIR carry/caliber is THE best available, and the rest of Y'all are fools, LOL.

BTW, my G19 has never had a negligent discharge.

My preference for the 1911 is an irrational prejudice, so there’s no point even arguing with me.

I have one of the early civilian P228’s. No problems with the trigger on it.

I own the Sig P-238 in .380.
Very concealable.

I’d be okay with that if I was side holstered but I generally carry front strong side and I’d kinda like to keep the family jewels attached.

HA, you prove my point!

I'm not bear hunting with it, a good, 124gr hollow-point round or 2 is most effective in stopping a would be bad guy.

I could put up with the grip safety taped down but cocked and locked is about as far as I would go.

Browning only put the grip safety on it because the Army wanted one. Probably dates back to cavalry use.

The wife used to give me grief for carrying one in the chamber with the hammer back. Said those were hers and if anybody was going to shoot them off it was going to be her.

I haven't heard her say anything about those particular parts in about a decade now... I wonder if I should be worried about that?

I agree they’re beautiful, functional and accurate guns (so long as the shooter does his/her part). They’re just outside my budget.

Hitler played holy hell with just one.

Maybe that was his problem.

But, I am of the opinion that anyone stupid enough to shoot at their testicles from an appendix carry, is too stupid to know what to do with them in the first place.

I don't get what people see so dangerous in that particular carry.

If anyone is scared to carry in any configuration, they really should not be carrying.

I carry my 1911, cocked, locked and safety on...and for some reason there are a lot of guys that gasp! themselves in paroxysms because of it.

I also carry my Bersa locked, loaded, safety off...'cause I have to pull that trigger in DA to get SA after the first shot.

I don't want to waste time coming off safety, when the trigger pull is a safety...just like a Glock.

But dumbasses shoot themselves every day with a Glock...", 'cause, hey, it ain't got no safety, doncha know?

Bottom line, if one doesn't know how to operate it, then one should not have one's booger hooks on it in the first place.

Sig Sauer was awarded a $580 million contract for the service pistol... The contract covers 10 years of procurement

Seriously? Really? That much money for ten years of pistols? How much are they paying each, $7,000?

I think a regular 320 is about $799 so a limited is likely going to be $1000-1200.
