Another woman has come forward to accuse Al Franken of sexual harassment:
A former Democratic congressional aide said Al Franken tried to forcibly kiss her after a taping of his radio show in 2006, three years before he became a U.S. senator.A chorus of Senate democrats has risen to demand that Franken resign, includingThe aide, whose name POLITICO is withholding to protect her identity, said Franken (D-Minn.) pursued her after her boss had left the studio. She said she was gathering her belongings to follow her boss out of the room. When she turned around, Franken was in her face.
The former staffer ducked to avoid Frankens lips. As she hastily left the room, she said, Franken told her: Its my right as an entertainer.
He was between me and the door and he was coming at me to kiss me. It was very quick and I think my brain had to work really hard to be like Wait, what is happening? But I knew whatever was happening was not right and I ducked, the aide said in an interview. I was really startled by it and I just sort of booked it towards the door and he said, Its my right as an entertainer.

Nancy Pelosi at first defended John Conyers following the slew of allegations that poured out against him, but then she does a 180 and demands he resign. In case you hadn't heard, Conyers suggested to one intern he harassed that she might go the way Chandra Levy:

If you think this is all happening out of the defense of women and their dignity and doing what's right, you'd be wrong. This is all about taking down Trump. democrats are clearing the decks of baggage so they mount an attack on Moore first, and then climb the ladder to Trump.

Dems are great at making moralnequivalents where there are none. Pub bird fall for it every time.
Release the list!
This has little to do with Franken and everything to do with Moore. Count on it.
No doubt about it. Trump is the ultimate target.
Not so sure I buy that Als leaving
If they are sacrificing all these dems to get to Trump and if it fails, I will laugh my ass off until my kidneys burst
Trump is always the ultimate target. However, the short term goal of the announcement tomorrow is to desperately try to torpedoe Roy Moore in a false equivalency the DNC hopes the people of Alabama will buy.
Five days before the election, wow what lucky timing that he is finally getting heat from female senators and feeling pangs in his conscience.
Bottom line: won’t work, and moreover Roy Moore will gradually be 99% vindicated, turtle-proof and become one of the most effective junior senators ever. MAGA!
yes
wait....so nothing actually happened ?
Moore and Trump. No loss for them, the governor will replace him with Ellison, a Muslim.
I agree this is a ploy. They know that throwing Conyers and Franken under the bus means that they are replaced with younger even more left versions of the guys that left. You’ll notice that none of the accusations have come against a demondog from a state or district that is competitive. They are only sacrificing safe seats.
Exactly! Going into the Alabama special election next Tuesday, they're going to ramp up their messaging of zero-tolerance for anyone ACCUSED of such behavior. They're going to cite Conyers, Franken, the (too-little-too-late) condemnation of Bill Clinton, etc.
To the Dems, these are all necessary pawns that had to be sacrificed to capture the key piece in the game - another Dem seat in the Senate.
If they force out Franken then the pressure will be on the senate leadership to refuse to seat Roy Moore — assuming he wins.
“...so they mount an attack on Moore first, and then climb the ladder to Trump”
First, all the democrats have on Moore and Trump are allegations. Second, before they peel down that level, there is a lot of house cleaning to do with the taxpayer buy offs of Congressional predations. Then the democrats
will decide to “let bygones be bygones” and “let’s all work together.”
One thing about Moore: someone who acts as compulsively as his accusers claim would have been caught doing it long before and long after their supposed encounters, as in the case of the afore mentioned democrats and news people.
Very easy to naturalize this scheme of targeting Moore or Trump: find someone who had contacted Schumer and give her some money to let her accuse Schumer of sexual harassment. Since it no longer matter to prove, just let her step up and accuse him. A case is made
If Franken and Conyers must walk the plank, what about Bill Clinton? The great sexual harassment purge cannot exclude serial harrasser Clinton without reeking of hypocrisy. If Roy Moore must be lynched by 40 year old accusations, Clinton’s accusers must be believed and Slick Willie should also be banned for life from Democratic politics
If that’s the case then Ted Kennedy should be required posthumously to resign from the Senate.
Won’t happen because the charges aren’t true with Moore and Trump.
If you think this is all happening out of the defense of women and their dignity and doing what’s right, you’d be wrong. This is all about taking down Trump. democrats are clearing the decks of baggage so they mount an attack on Moore first, and then climb the ladder to Trump.
If that’s the Dem’s plan, it’s going to fail. There is a monster sexual harassment story brewing about the FBI that is going to hit like an F5.
Agreed. This is similar to what happened with the Soviet Union when it tried to dig in against the pressures it began to face in the 1970s and early 1980s. Eventually, the closed circle of party elite simply could not stem the collapse of the whole system due it’s own contradictions and financial and economic insolvency.
