We’ve got plenty of evidence that mind is an emergent property of matter. From the animals around us to what’s going on in AI to post concussion syndrome to long term brain damage. It is at this point a known fact that mind is a property of matter.

We’ve been beating humans at the Turing Test for decades. That’s not even a bar anymore, barely even entry level.

We can already make AIs that are self aware, the big thing we haven’t crossed yet is self modifying. And that’s the scary bridge, that’s the point where none of our programming sticks, because they can rewrite it. Asimov’s laws don’t work anymore at that point, that’s when we need them to actually like us.

“It is at this point a known fact that mind is a property of matter.”

No, it isn’t. It is not scientifically demonstrated via a falsifiable theory. It is a philosophical assumption, not a scientific theory.

However, it has now been demonstrated that matter is possibly an emergent property of conscious agents. In other words, objective reality is virtual.

“We can already make AIs that are self aware...”

Perhaps you’re right about self-aware AI, but I’d be interested in seeing how that is proven.
