Absolutely. The American ones are the equivalent of Chinese knock-offs. I’m real disappointed I didn’t make an effort to get a German one instead of the Interarms Virginia junk.
The Baretta Model 21a Bobcat is absolutely the best pocket pistol, IMO.
I have both the Glock 42 and the Glock 43, and they both have 6-round magazines.
The Ruger LCR in.38+P is a superb CC weapon.
Luvz my Kimber Micro 9, which is a gun very similar to the Siggie. Call me retrograde, but I want an external safety on anything that’s going to be pointing at Mr. Happy...
Not sure I want something with a hammer in a pocket. In a holster fine, but too easy to snag on the hammer spur in a pocket.
I thought of the Bobcat too. A really good choice. I never fired one but they were slightly larger and were double action compared to the older .22 short and .25 models.
Many years ago I had both a Mimx and Jetfire. Those tiny little Berettas were both accurate and reliable. Actually they were amazingly accurate if you were really careful.
They could be carried cocked and locked but I think I would just keep one in the pocket with the hammer down. They were about as small as a practical gun gets.
I think thats why I liked it. I does feel pretty beefy. Double stack mag would probly be a disqualifier for the front pocket. It sure is purty tho.
I have one but you can’t carry it 24/7. The LCP can’t be topped for concealability. It fits easily in the back pocket of jeans and with a good pocket holster is completely stealth. It works in all those zipper jacket pockets too.
It’s a whole new ballgame for me.
Look how far back the hammer is. It won’t snag. Besides it rides in a pocket holster.
The external thumb safety is on the other side.
bought new in 1987, but I get your point.
Oh, yeah, I know - that wasn't intended as a criticism of the Sig at all. Great gun. Almost bought one and I may yet. When Kimber first shipped the Micro 9 they sent ONE six-round magazine with it, the cheap bastages. One mag. And for several months you couldn't even buy a separate one because they weren't in stock. That's why two of mine say "Sig Sauer" on the baseplate. They work perfectly.
That external safety is, to be sure, a little difficult for pocket carry since you have to dive a little deeper for a proper grip prior to the draw stroke. I think it's worth it, though. Pocket carry is deep concealment, it won't be fast.
I've pretty much gone to belt carry with a gun that size, though. It prints less than my cell phone. If you have any good holster recommendations I'd be grateful.
Clothing snags on everything. But if it’s in a holster then ok.
I carry the North American everywhere that I don’t go through a metal detector. I carry it even when I mow the yard or wash the car. When I go out, I carry a Glock 19 with a the standard 15 rd mag and a couple 17 rd backup mags... But the little North American still comes along for the ride. I’ve had it since they first came out about 25 or 30 years ago. It shows no rust even though I neglect it and it still goes boom every time I pull the bang switch.
I bought that for my wife who was in the mental healthcare field...if you get my drift.
Some told me WTF is she gonna do with that? I told them if some wacko grabs her from behind, I instructed her to simply cock the thing and point it over her shoulder and let it go.
22 LR isnt as useless as people think.
What shocked me is how accurate that little SOB is at 10 to 20 feet. I mean, you can hit a shoebox sized target time after time at 20 feet. And it penetrates...which really shocked me.
I sometimes carry my 22mag into public places around here. What good is a 22mag? Well, for one thing, it doesnt kick and you can take shot after shot without re-aiming. Just point and click them off.
I’ve got a Star Firestar .40S&W that’s about the same size.
Not a whole lot of fun to shoot, but it feels like as miniature 1911.

Another vote for the lowly (and oft-copied) Keltec 380. Mine has performed flawlessly for over three years.
I had a compact Kimber. Went back to the factory. No questions, no charge. Fixed and returned. Never liked the trigger. The Sig is a natural. You’re correct about pocket carry. It’s not the fastest.
