I sympathize with you, but maybe the problem is that we have not watched enough. I was in the UK last week, and the BBC had an amazing montage where they replayed every goal in the Premier League over the last 10 years, back to back. Forty seven seconds of awe.

:)

bagster :" WOGS SHEILAS and Pooftas."

European football is a game of finesse, strategy, endurance and tactics.
American football is a game of brutality and bulk mass thuggery assault, with tactics thrown in incidentally.
You won't find "WOGS SHEILAS and Pooftas" playing either La Cross or Hurley.

I can no longer defend football. It’s been ruined. But what the hell is “hurley?”

At 14 years I became a Hurler. Its an Irish game played with a stick like they use in field Hocky and a leather type ball. No protection Just shorts and a t Shirt.
It OK except the Irish use the stick like a bat and no one is safe during or after the “Game”.
I played in Croak Park near Van Cortland Park in N Y C .
Great sport if you don’t get Killed.

dfwgator :" Hurling? "

Yup ! The Gaelic game which uses the tactics, endurance and brutality of American football
combined with the athleticism and accuracy of baseball.
Best played while lightly intoxicated to play through the pain

And you survived ?
Years ago, ESPN used to cover the occasional games, before it got all pussified.
Haven't seen a game in years .. dam !

Yes ! Constant action
Even 'Aussie Rules' football is better than American football
In Australia, the players and the game is called "footie"
and entire towns turn out for the games .

I remember seeing it on ESPN also. Definitely kept my attention and was pretty easy to pick up the rules. First of which seemed to be, look out for the stick!

Yes, while it is an historic Gaelic game
It was encouraged by the British ..
as a form of Birth control, and eliminate the growing Irish population.
Anyone with a hurling stick on the wall represents a "survivor"

In progress now on FS2 [FoxSports2].

USA 0 - 2 ENG

==

My pctv card was showing UEFA Europe highlights on FS-Southwest. The field was so foggy that one could barely see the players.

Halftime USA 0-2 England

USA playing way better than the score makes it look like.
Some very good chances and shots on goal but they got blocked.

England’s Brewster came in hot and scored two quick goals but has since been defended against well, well enough. He had a couple more chances. Might well get a hat-trick but if not then that’s to our guys credit considering he is firing hot.

Was a cooling break at 25th minute for drinking cold water.

Let’s Go USA!
