NEW YORK (Reuters) - President Donald Trump’s call for National Football League owners to fire players who protest during the U.S. national anthem revealed an “unfortunate lack of respect” for the NFL and its players, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said on Saturday.
Goodell, in a statement released a day after Trump suggested any protesting football player was a “son of a bitch” and should lose his job, never mentioned the president by name but made a clear reference to his remarks at a political rally.
“Divisive comments like these demonstrate an unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL, our great game and all of our players, and a failure to understand the overwhelming force for good our clubs and players represent in our communities,” Goodell said in the statement.....

I don’t think this is going to go too well for the NFL. There’s the story about CTE out there and now with an Aaron Hernandez connection. There is the pricing issue. There is a growing amount of negative coverage about the lack of benefit for communities. There are not as many Ray Lewis types out there, not as many feel-good stories. This has been going on for years, but it seems to be getting worse. This might not go so well, especially if they come out of a verbal tussle with Trump looking like a bunch of primadonnas (which is a very old criticism they do not need to give confirmation for all to see).
Tomorrow should be interesting.
The media has made it okay to lambast the President. They never would have criticized the past president because of his color... political correct to a T.. .. but get an honest one in the oval office and they go ballistic.
Just think.... clinton had his teenager in the oval office serving him... plus all the other women.. and his druggy brother... obama set up the most crime infested administration ever... spied on citizens, used the power of the government against the people... all the departments in the government are corrupted/infested.. congress sits on their laurels... doing nothing to curb the crime in our government... and the media/left give all that a nod... just don’t be a Trump or a Trump voter. He talks plain speak, he does what he says he will do, his voters love him... and the left have lost their minds over this one man!

The owners should give the protesting players a gift. I think a one way ticket to Cuba would be appropriate.
