Irena Sendler

Died: May 12, 2008 (aged 98) Warsaw, Poland

During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw ghetto, as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist. She had an ulterior motive.

Irena smuggled Jewish infants out in the bottom of the tool box she carried. She also carried a burlap sack in the back of her truck, for larger kids.

Irena kept a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto.

The soldiers, of course, wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the kids/infants noises.

During her time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants.

Ultimately, she was caught, however, and the Nazi's broke both of her legs and arms and beat her severely.

Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she had smuggled out in a glass jar that she buried under a tree in her back yard.

After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived and tried to reunite the family. Most had been gassed. Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes or adopted.

In 2007 Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize. She was not selected.

Al Gore won, for a slide show on Global Warming.

Later another politician, Barack Obama, won for his work as a community organizer for ACORN.

In MEMORIAM - 72 YEARS LATER

I'm doing my small part by forwarding this message. I hope you'll consider doing the same. It is now some 72 years since the Second World War in Europe ended.

This article is being published as a memorial chain, in memory of the six million Jews, 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians and 1,900 Catholic priests who were murdered, massacred, raped, burned, starved and humiliated!

Now, more than ever, with Iran and others claiming the HOLOCAUST to be 'a myth', it's imperative to make sure the world never forgets. Because there are others who would like to do it again.

This article was originally sent as an email and is intended to reach 40 million people worldwide!

Join us and be a link in the memorial chain and help us distribute it around the world. Please send this article to people you know and ask them to continue the memorial chain.

It will only take you a minute to pass this along.

The Nobel Prize has lost some of it’s luster, after awarding people like Obama. That said, more need to know about this woman. Perhaps the next Pope will make her into a Saint.
Maybe a risk taking Christian millionaire will make a movie about her. A fully produced and scripted movie, meant for mass release.

After the lost Nobel prize, I corresponded with her remaining family. Unfortunately they were very much left of center and unwilling to send any blame toward Gore. We ended the conversations in just a few weeks.

We see this often in Europe, where socialism and communism are just different corners of a street. There are relatively few true conservatives there, not at all like in the US Midwest.

This statement covers multiple generations, and I do not pretend to understand why there is such reluctance to assign blame to their (parents?) belief systems.

Once they come over here they tend to change their thought patterns to understand capitalism but even that takes time.

Small point -- the soldiers generally guarding the ghettos were not actually soldiers per se, but Ordnung Polizie. When the Nazis took over, the police force was nationalized under Himmler, who organized a system of battalions where police would be rotated into and out of units of OrdPo being used in eastern Europe. The chilling part is that except for a few thousand younger men assigned to the OrdPo, the OrdPo was made up of men too old to be drafted into military service, whi had grown up before the Nazis took power. One of the reasons Himmler used his own organization was because he didn't believe the military would cooperate. The OrdPo were armed and trained ina similar manner to the army, but wore distinctive off-green uniforms.

Records show that much of the "work" of the Holocaust was put to Lithuanian, Ukrainian, and Trawniki auxilaries while OrdPo would form a perimeter and turn their backs to whatever was going on -- after a few trial runs of mass murder, Himmler's 2nd man (can't recall his name) decided that the emotional trauma was causing the OrdPo to be too ineffectual for what Himmler had planned. He also determined that large quantities of alcohol should be issued before and after "Jewish actions," which caused numerous incidents of friendly fire. At Slutka, a unit of Lithuanian auxiliaries wholesale opened fire on German army troops interfering with a roud-up.

Lost it's luster? It's amazing that it ever held any credibility...

From Robert Whul's Assume the Position ff 23:45

Alfred Nobel, We know Alfred Nobel, the founder of the great Alfred Nobel foundation. Who can tell me where did Alfred Nobel make all his money from? He invented dynamite. DYNAMITE! This S.O.B. blew up half of the world and has the balls to issue a peace prize.

I'll bet that hurt! What a brave lady! Never heard this story, thanks for posting it.

Our 'Nobel' heros......what a joke they are. Should have them revoked.

I think Nobel lost his brother to nitroglycerin accident. Al came up with a way to stabilize it.

He felt really bad that it was then used to deliberately kill people, hence the "prize".

What a truly heroic and lovely lady. Too bad the Nobel Committee passed over her, in favor of that fraud AlGore, just a year before she died.

Check out the introduction to book “Aftermath, The Remnants of War” it tells the whole story. Actually, read the whole book. It’s fascinating.
