The Left completely misses the point of 1984. It actually became a best seller again after Trump was elected.
1984 is about the dangers of an all-powerful state, which is the natural outcome of following Leftist policies and ideology. We see it on campus — “Hate Speech is Non Speech.” We see it in government where both parties have created an all-knowing deep state to “keep us safe.”
Conservatives are about less government and less government control over our lives. That’s the opposite of what Big Brother wants.

Bizarre misreading: @HillaryClinton thinks the lesson of Orwell's 1984 is that you should trust experts, leaders and the press. Unfortunately, this is exactly what is taught in American public schools and promoted through the media.
What's so scary is how much of the voting American population voted for anti-American Hillary Clinton.
