Less than two weeks before Election Day, Hillary Clinton held a clear lead in the polls and it looked like her campaign was trying to run up the score — just as the race was about to turn upside down.
At 12:37 p.m. ET on Friday, Oct. 28 — with 12 days left in the election — the campaign blasted out an advisory to reporters announcing that the former secretary of state would be campaigning in reliably Republican Arizona, a move that suggested her team was gunning to compete in states well beyond the battlegrounds they needed for victory against GOP nominee Donald Trump.
They had every right to be confident.
The RealClearPolitics polling average from the day before showed Clinton leading Trump nationally by nearly six points (for perspective, Barack Obama beat Mitt Romney by four points in 2012). State polls had Clinton ahead in key battlegrounds like Pennsylvania and North Carolina. Even the data team doing analytics for the Trump campaign was telling reporters that, as of Oct. 27, they had just a 15 percent chance of winning.
All this was happening while early voting was taking place in states across the country.
In retrospect, however, the race was never as stable as it appeared. A contest featuring the two most unpopular candidates in modern presidential campaign history made the political terrain unstable — and more susceptible to sudden shifts.
And the ground began to move under the Clinton team’s feet just 20 minutes after its Arizona announcement, with a tweet from Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, who said the FBI was looking at Clinton’s emails — again.....

Trump supporters knew that a man who could fill 30,000 seat stadiums on a whim was going to win against a dumb broad that couldn’t fill a nursing home.
CA & NY are their Achilles Heel. They spend millions of $ and huge amounts of time invested to 'win' states they will win anyway. If every single person in CA and NY had voted TWICE (200%) for Hilliary, it would not have changed the outcome one bit..................
Exactly. In fact, the killers politically for the Clinton campaign was her infamous basket of deplorables remark at a fundraising event and her health scare just a few days later at the 9/11 commemoration event.
Back in late October 2016 one liberal commentator said Hillary would not only win, she’d take Texas.

You forgot “lobby”. She couldn’t fill a nursing home lobby.
Again, they are placing credence that the polls 12 days out were ‘accurate’.....like how the polls were ‘accurate’ 1-3 days before the election. They were not. From Labor Day onward, including the 9/11 fall in NYC, it was becoming clear to me that hrc did not have this thing in the bag.

Clinton struggled to reliably draw hundreds to her infrequent rallies. Trump drew 10-20 thousand - twice a day. Routinely.
The polls were, ostensibly, predictions. The rallies were reality. It was obvious where voter enthusiasm was.
The polls were not predictions, they were propaganda. They knowingly oversampled Democrats, which caused inflated poll numbers. In my opinion polls were used to shape pubic opinion rather than gauge it.
They will NEVER get over it.
Most of us knew she would.

So Hillary was creeped out by Trump behind her and she is supposed to be the strongest smartest woman in the world she had to send a man out to tell her supporters its over go home clearly not the right temperament
Nearly a year and they still can’t believe it happened.
12 days that gave me a glimmer of hope for the future.
