Book Review: "The Red Cliffs of Zerhoun" - by Matthew Bracken
Vanity-self ^ | July 17, 2017 | Matthew Bracken

Posted on 08/23/2017 9:26:32 AM PDT by MeganC

One of our very own FReepers wrote a book called, "The Red Cliffs of Zerhoun", which was released last month. I ordered it and read it and hope you'll bear with me as I offer my review of the book.

First, I do not know Matthew outside of Free Republic and I'm getting nothing for doing this review.

The story takes place at some point in the future. Maybe a decade from now, maybe twenty years from now. The world has faced a crisis in which fiat currencies like the dollar and the Euro have fallen and trade is done in gold, oil, and valuable commodities like slaves.

That's where the story picks up is after Muslim Arabs raid Ireland to capture young girls for the Muslim slave trade. A rescue mission is laid on by private citizens after the European governments chicken out (as usual) and even try to stop the rescue mission for fear of offending the Muslim pirates.

What follows is an astoundingly detailed adventure which spells out in realistic terms the effort and profound costs involved in securing liberty from those who might try to take it.

This is a great read for people who like military-thrillers, speculation about the costs of appeasing Islam, and for those who just enjoy a great book.

It's all the better because this book is by one of our own as opposed to someone who might take our money and then use it to support a Democrat. You just won't have any regrets buying and reading this book!

Sincerely,

- Megan

There seems to be a Bracken book I have not read. Time to rectify this problem!

I will buy it in hard copy next month. I just like being able to pick a book up, read what I want and put a place marker in until next time. Maybe it will be cool enough to just sit in a rocker and enjoy it on the porch.

I assume it is on Amazon.

I am 80% (kindle estimate) into the book now, and am approaching the dreaded “oh no it’s almost over” phase.

I have read all 5 novels, the first 4 multiple times now. I consider it an honor and a privilege to have been exposed to you and your writing. I appreciate what you have done, and hopefully will continue doing as prolifically as possible into the future.

Matt, I bought a kindle version of your book which I am really enjoying and almost done with. I just went on Amazon and bought hard copy for my 90 year old Korean War Vet dad and sending it to him. Thanks.

Bring Dan Kilmer back!
