You are correct there was no politicking on Johnny’s show. Always a gentleman. If any racist views were shown those would only be the animosity between north and south not between black and white. Those he met were still fighting the war in their imagination.
BTW - didn’t you just covet Bat Masterson’s cane? He was a dandy, dapper man. :-)
