How about neither for a home defense.
12-Gauge Shotgun if used is messy. In other words you will have Hamburger meat all over your walls.
An AR-15 is better for long distance.
A 357 Magnum is probably your best bet for a home defense.
“When a man with a .45 meets a man with a rifle, the man with a pistol will be a dead man.”
Contrary to Clint Eastwood films, Ramon Rojo’s is correct. On the other hand, use what you have at hand.
.357????
Only in daylight.
One shot at night & you’ll be blind for 5 min. & the bad guy will nail you...
Yeah, that’s the spirit! The .357 is excellent for going through a few walls and several people. Why not a .44 mag? Bigger booolit dontcha know. You can play Dirty Harry for your friends and neighbors.
Anything but that weenie .223......................lol!
Poor advice. A pistol/revolver is used in order to fight your way to your primary mass-casualty/wound producing item: in my case shotgun w#4 buck while the wife secures the hallway with the PS90 SBR.
Hamburger meat? You've never shot anyone, I see.....and in reality, you won't give a damn about brains, blood, etc until the next day. ......unless its yours.
Moral of the story: firepower kills. Get as much lead downrange, accurately, as quickly as possible....and have a lawyer on speed dial.
357 mag probably best bet for home defense, unless a bullet that did not hit the perp tears throught the dry wall and throught your neighbors wall and injures them by mistake.
